I found this on Amazon & read the reviews. Bought this set & 1 other basket. Brilliant.
Even better quality than pyrex that I have been using for years.
Down side. It is probably a little heavier than metal ones &, of course, it is breakable.
I have since bought another extra basket & I have used it with the 3 baskets with no problems.
It also looks good & can be left out on show.
Steaming is brilliant! I have used 3 levels Tefal steamer before, it was ok but it took quite long time to steam and water level needed to be checked quite often when I steamed many items at the same time but this one (Pyroflam) is perfect! Its also easy to wash- just soak in a warm/hot water for a while and its clean. I am talking now about casserole dish, as I bought a whole set :). We baked a few layers of potatoes, carrots, chicken, onions, cheese and mayo between each level and you can imagine how hard it is usually to clean such dish afterwards but with this one it wasn't! Of course you can use a dishwasher- even easier but I am old school, I prefer to wash pans in a sink. But its up to you :).
If you are still doubting- stop, and.... Just go for it! You won't regret it. Mum of my boyfriend is using this kind of dishes for ages already and she is still happy with it and dishes still look good. I hope I also be happy with my dishes years ahead:). Thanks for reading my review, I hope it was helpful :).
All in all it suits my primary need for a steamer that isn't going to have an opportunity to seep metal into my vegetables :)
I’ve tried cooking a few things:
Potatoes in the pot and veg in the steamer – the veg seemed to take FOREVER to cook (potatoes were falling apart by the time the veg was cooked) plus the water in the pan kept boiling over making a mess of the stove and sometimes even putting out the flames!
Meatballs in just the white bit – tried to brown them on the hob before adding sauce, they kept sticking to the bottom and burning, it didn’t seem to matter what heat or how much oil was in there. Plus the cleaning afterwards was a nightmare, we tried a few times and kept soaking and re-soaking but still wouldn’t come off, in the end I had to scrape the remains off with a knife.
Pasta in the white bit, veg in the top – again the veg to ages to cook, and the pasta stuck to the bottom and burnt, plus the water kept boiling over the edge making a mess and putting the flames out again.
Along with the pan getting hot and needing oven gloves to lift the steamer to deal with burn pasta / over flowing water I found it quite difficult to use.
I really want to like this item and may give it another go but so far I am very disappointed.

25 years guarantee, seems incredible. The steamer is absolutely brilliant.Published 11 months ago by Amazon Customer
The steamer works well and steams just as evenly as previously owned plastic and stainless steel ones. Being glass and ceramic it is quite heavy but I did expect that. Read morePublished 12 months ago by LittleStar
