This will be my first review on Amazon, I must say this book inspired me to become a contributor rather than a mere a spectator. Although I can write a big review which still would not do this book justice, I'll keep this short and concise

The book helps to improve and develop your mindset which inevitably inspires you to improve your skillset. Although this is more of an ongoing journey than just a book. one can start putting the tools and concepts covered into practice right away, and other aspects can be perfected over time. Many books fail to deliver on the basis that there's too much of theory of the IDEAL world and not much of the REALITY in the modern workplace. This is a well balanced approach. I myself had adapted to the real workplace, the dog eat dog competitive world which eats up the "nice guy", but having gone through the book I have had my wake up call, I have the tools in this book to strengthen my grit in order to shine and endure in this tough, complex and uncertain world.

The only criticism I have is there are not enough real life examples that would really enforce the concepts, but there are micro challenges at the end of every chapter to apply the concepts in your own lives.

I just wish I had come across this book sooner, I have countless professional certifications which gives me the edge and gives me precedence on my CV, But I never thought improving my mindset (most important!) would do such wonders which not only helps improve my CV, but improves me as a person. The book highlights my weaker points and has the tools on how to address them. I feel like I've turned a new leaf

A MUST READ:)

This book offers a very structured and helpful self-improvement guide, backed up with an interactive website and I really wish the authors well with it. They deserve a great deal of praise for focusing people on the things that really matter in life. I'm bombarded with suggestions for acquiring more qualifications and know already that more isn't necessarily more in terms of improving your appeal for employers and it's good to have this confirmed. I also find their "CMe" very interesting: for sure, the cv is the worst marketing device known to humanity! I have started working through the website activities and think it will help me to sell myself far more effectively in future.

On the downside, recruiters are normally caught in a cleft stick with a client who will specify a skillset: they won't necessarily know what mindset the client is after. Since the first sift is often done by somebody relatively lacking in experience, mindset will tend to be a secondary search and you might already be in the bin when they do it. Also I did find the constant repetition very American and very annoying. Not only did I hear you already, I've heard it about 1800000 times!!

Having said all that, if a cv isn't getting you far, adopting the CMe, perhaps with some modifications, may well be worth a try. It isn't likely that it will cost you and might just set you on the path to success.

The basic message of "Put Your Mindset to Work" is that if you acquire the right mindset and bring it to the workplace, you will bring added value to your employers, increase your own self esteem and, as a consequence, find your life more rewarding. This seems to me to be incontrovertibly true! I freely admit that in the actual process of reading self-help books, especially when they are as nicely set out and as clearly written as "Put Your Mindset To Work", I often find myself suffused with a warm glow and the sense that I have already attained whatever is on offer in the book.... but as soon as the book is put aside, I soon discover to my chagrin that little or nothing remains. "Put Your Mindset To Work" is not like that, it is interactive giving you free access to the 3G Mindset Website until April 2017, this enables you to monitor and improve your mindset on an ongoing basis..... Highly Recommended!!!!!!

Format: MP3 CD
Working in recruitment I had high hopes for this book and the audiobook (CD) format seemed an ideal way to fit learning a new concept around other commitments.

I was quickly disappointed, not least because most of the first hour is taken up with little more than endorsement of the concept (that mindset trumps skillset) repeated over and over again. And I mean over and over again, relentlessly pushing this point even into later chapters but without much insight into how to apply this knowledge to my life and career. I found myself thinking that if this premise was simply noted as a short introduction and not repeated, the whole thing would have been half the length and I became more and more frustrated with each new anecdote or one-liner that backed up the bones but without adding any meat.

There is also a practical issue with this resource as a CD. A number of exercises utilise a table of data however the data is not presented as part of the exercise, simply referred to as a figure, like being told a story about an exercise without being able to participate. Subsequently the listener misses out on valuable information, which given the above is scarce enough as it is.

Perhaps the format of the paper/kindle copy offers a less frustrating experience, but despite the never-ending endorsements I would not recommend this resource.
