Product Description

A somewhat prudish young lady inherits a nudist camp. She wants to shut it down, but is persuaded by its members to give the place a look before she takes any action. She agrees, and while touring the camp finds herself attracted to one of the patrons. The trouble is, so does another young woman at the camp. Complications ensue. This British-produced 'nudie' classic from 1960 was originally released under the title 'The Nudist Story'. The thrill of seeing real nudists on the big screen spelled financial success for the producers. The film was reissued in the UK as 'For Members Only' and in the US in 1967 under the title presented here-'Pussycats Paradise'.

Pussycats Paradise, The Nudist Story, or my favourite, For Members Only, are all titles for this wonderfully deranged 1960 British nudist film. The slender story involves Jane, an uptight, hard nosed business woman who inherits land that comes with, surprise surprise a nudist colony when her pillar of the community grandfather dies.
Coaxed down to take a look by camp manager, the suave and debonaire Bob our heroine, spellbound by the simple charms of nudism succumbs to the difficult decision to remove her extensive undergarments, let a bit of air in and play some volleyball.
Trouble lurks on the horizon though in the stichless shape of French diva Gloria. She's had her eye on Bob's charms for a while and isn't going to let Jane take her man.

What makes the film such a hoot is the time capsule attitudes of the day. Everyone speaks in proper RP clipped British accents, apart from Frenchie femme fatal Gloria (boob job in 1960?). Plenty of volleyball, swimming and singing. The camera pans and suitably placed thermos flasks or inflatable balls are all of a sudden over the actors crotches and everyone is constantly smoking, cooking or playing sports dangerously naked.

The funniest scene is when Jane and Bob playfully abduct grumpy prude Aunt Meg and take her to a surprise party. Megs heart melts as she is greeted by a choir of naked children singing Happy Birthday with the rest of the camp waiting with bated breath to see if Aunt Meg is going to change her mind about the closure. Of course the censor of the day would hardly allow lingering shots of genitals so one wise fellow hides his modesty by grabbing a naked child to stand in front of him! Ah the innocence.
