HASH(0x98668a84) out of 5 stars Dan Brown meets Paulo Coelho 7 Sept. 2012

What a great story! Found myself reading till the wee hours of the morning, after expecting only to dip into it. Lots of good unexpected twists, believable and real characters, and a neat and resonating 'secret' revealed that packages this as a modern-day parable with ancient roots. The gripping Holocaust account is particularly well done, as it opens one's eyes to the truth behind the Lithuanian massacres, without appalling sensitive readers like myself to the point that we give up reading. This is character driven in the most adept way, so that we to and fro across the eras, without losing the story thread.

HASH(0x98668cd0) out of 5 stars Quentin Tarantino's Inglorius Bastards meets The Book Thief 12 Sept. 2013

I loved this story. From the genesis of finding the old photographs in the museum to the journey the writer took to creatively explore his roots through fiction. It is a ripping read - Vilnius in the 1700s to modern day, the themes of love and fear, of overcoming challenges, revenge and restitution, how love and family conquer all - a thread of hope for the future.

HASH(0x98668c94) out of 5 stars A great read! 4 Sept. 2013

This story had an awesome flow and all the elements of epic read and more. Oscillating between, time, geography, cultures, religion, fact and fiction with twists, turns on every page. A real page turner. Would love to see it excel internationally.

HASH(0x98668f88) out of 5 stars Long, scattered but very good when it starts to come together. 18 May 2014

It is written from very different and very broad perspectives and time frames. Alittle difficult to follow at first but it really does come together, very well.
