With our well-known green credentials we're all for recycling here at PURE, so when we saw the opportunity to reuse a few design ideas from the 1950s, update the technology and add a PURE twist, we jumped at it. The resulting radio is as cute as it gets, so cute that we think it'll still look good in the 2050s. More than just a design exercise, Mio sounds fantastic too. And so it should: under its retro-modern skin is our very own EVOKE-1S, What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision's 'Best Portable DAB Radio of 2007'.

At first it seemed ok, but after several months the extremely thin plastic covering is coming away in patches. It is only used in the house and sits permanently in a normal atmosphere .Very poor quality manufacture.
The tone is rather muffled, which necessitates increased volume for clear speech. An adjustment to increase treble is needed.
Unfortunately I can not recommend this radio and for the high price it has proved a total disappointment
This radio is described as "rechargeable", but it is NOT rechargeable unless you buy the Pure Chargepak E1 which will set you back another £33.58!!
I think the description of this radio on the Amazon website is misleading, as you may not realise the chargepak is not included unless you click and read the "See more technical details".
The leather covering is very flimsy indeed, it does tear, you need to be very careful when extending ariel otherwise you will rip the leather. It's not got a bad sound, it doesn't play very loud (though loud enough for me) it is easy to work and you can use it as a radio alarm clock. It's huge downside is ability to pick up DAB if you are not in a great reception area and the flimsy covering.
I purchased a Roberts Revival iStream Internet DAB for the kitchen, worked a treat, didn't need to stream from internet just worked via DAB. Whilst somewhat more expensive than the Pure it really does knock spots of it in my opinion.

I'll don't really understand why a dabs radio has to cost this much but this one is competitive and my wife is happy with it.
