KTC Coconut oil. £4.29 from 123direct seller.
For 500ml jar. ( plastic jar) not glass.

So received item quickly thanks to Amazon Prime membership.

Onto the oil. The label on the jar does say this can be used on your hair and skin and for cooking.

Plus Points:
This just like olive oil and jasmine etc this too can be used on your hair for a deep conditioning hair treatment by soaking hair with oil to cover hair from roots to tips and massage scalp gently then applying a damp hot towel or wrap in cling film and leave for at least 30mins or longer for an even deeper treatment.
Even apply heat from hairdryer.
As this helps with treatment to.

Then wash out and style as normal.
It will make your hair lovely and soft.

It says 100% pure coconut oil that is true to a certain extent. There isn't anything else in the tub,

Negatives:
Onto the not so good bits...

Unfortunately the process it takes in making REFINED coconut oil which this is..
Ends up removing most if not all of the nutrients and vitamins which is probably the reason your putting it on your hair or skin in the first place.

So too does deodorising the coconut which is why you can't smell or taste coconut in this oil.

For UNREFINED & not deoderized coconut oil people wanting to put this on there skin and hair would be better buying VIRGIN COCONUT OIL which is UNREFINED and not DEODERIZED.

As this is the mistake I made when I purchased this oil.

It will soften and help to moisturise your dry hair, as will any form of olive oil, Jasmine oil, but in the long run if you suffer really dry hair or skin you could end up making the problem worse.

Much as I dislike giving bad reviews I feel it is important to make a few points about this oil. I have been using coconut oil for over 10 years now so feel experienced enough to judge whether an oil is good or not. This brand uses RBD oil which stands for Refined, Bleached and Deodorised. It is made from copra which is the dried flesh of the coconut. This flesh has an unpleasant smokey smell and is darker from the drying process which is why the RBD process is needed to remove the unpleasant smell and colour.
I have used, well sampled, this coconut oil in the past and have found it vastly inferior to virgin coconut oil both for cooking and cosmetic use. I do not feel confident about the RBD process and what chemicals may be involved. When I used this for hair oiling and scalp massage I did not experience anywhere near the conditioning benefits I have and do still experience with the virgin oil.
On my skin i also did not find it very good at all. When I have used RBD coconut oil in the past I have often developed a few spots which is something that never normally happens to me, the texture of the oil also does not feel that pleasant on the skin. In contrast when I use virgin coconut oil on my skin applied quite heavily at night by morning my skin feels plumper and nourished, my pores seem reduced and my skin tone is very clear. I'd even go so far as to say it appears younger.
In terms of taste, well I only used RBD coconut oil once in food before I knew of the issues with how it is produced. It does not taste of coconut (no surprise there given the above information) and I felt no benefit from using it as far as the taste of the meal goes. Virgin coconut oil on the other hand tastes delicious and adds a subtle flavour to the food.

Love this! There really are 101 uses of coconut oil - I first read about them on a site called Pinterest (for anyone who is interested) as I wanted something that was cheap and worked wonders.
I usually melt a little in some hot water and mix it with a few drops of essential oil and some vitamin E, you can buy several types from Amazon and keep it in a tub on my desk/bedside unit/next to the kitchen sink etc.
It works absolute wonders for your skin, not kidding - it toughens nails and softens hair. In fact the only thing I haven't done with it is actually cook with it! (i have heard its quite good nutritionally)
So here is what I found out; if you have nails which flake, peel and break easily, take off your nail polish and stop using nail hardeners etc. Instead use gloves when you are washing up, cleaning, gardening etc and rub a little into your hands and nails whenever you get chance - your nails will get lovely and hard and the whites will get whiter.
You can clean your teeth with it - sounds pretty yucky but its really effective - if you can't stand the flavour, try adding a drop of mint essential oil (the edible kind), swill for 10-20 minutes and then brush as normal - it makes your teeth feel remarkibly clean. There are different ways of trying this, for more information look up 'oil pulling'.
My favourite is using it as a deep conditioning treatment - you can use it on your hair overnight and then wash out in the morning - great for taming a fresh perm or frizzy hair (yes I have those), and you can also add a couple of teaspoons of it to your bath tub along with some essential oil - this will leave a thin coating of oil on your body afterwards, (and your bath, be careful you don't slip! It will need cleaning before you attempt to use it again!
