The book presented a comprehensive examination of the elements that ultimately determine the level of one's mental toughness, along with practical methods for improving on these areas. I found the writing easy to comprehend, and delivered in a relaxed, almost conversational style. I also thought that the chapters were ordered in a very logical system, taking one from the basic internal mechanisms of player psychology through to somewhat more complex discussions and then finally culminating with the team concept.

As the coach of a junior team in the United States, I found myself learning much that can aid me when working individually with my players, as well as helpful ideas for shaping an effective team as well.

Overall, I found reading "The Psychology of Cricket" to be an enjoyable and very beneficial experience, and would recommend it to anyone with an interest in the mental aspects of the game.

As an ex professional player & coach, I found this book interesting & very relevant to the playing & coaching of the game.

As an ex player, I wish that I had had access to a book of this nature as I believe that I would have been a better player as a result.

As a current coach, I found the book to be informative with clear application to the coaching of the game.

Issues are discussed in simple language without recourse to the 'jargon' sometimes associated with books on psychology & with many examples of how the principles can be applied to cricket.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about how the mind impacts on cricket performance.

This book strikes a good balance between approaches based on academic research and practical examples that can be applied by coaches and players. There is a comprehensive coverage of the main challenges players at all levels face with links to more detailed research if needed. The authors give numerous good and up to date examples that make the research come alive. This is a good book for cricketers and coaches with an interest in the mental side of the game and is pitched at a challenging but not threatening level.

A truly excellent and informative book on this most interesting of topics. As someone who has played and now coaches cricket I found it informative and very well explained to someone without any prior knowledge. It has definitely made me reflect on my coaching methods and only wished I had something like this when I was a youngster . Please read and enjoy as I found this book fascinating . Well done to the authors.

Great insight into an area that is essential for success - what happens between the ears! I know, from experience of working with thousands of young people in educational and sports environments, that it's mental skills that make the difference. This book is well written with real insight into the challenges of achieving elite performance in cricket, where you have distinct, continuous one-on-one battles within a team sport. Being able to perform at your best when it matters most defines winners and being able to perform under pressure is crucial, as we have seen in the last test series! The tools and techniques in this book can certainly help with this at every level and many can be transferred into everyday life.

An excellent read and would definitely recommend it to players and coaches who want to continuously improve individual and team performance.

A fascinating insight into strategies and thought processes researched by the writers into the complexities of controlling the mind to achieve greater performance.

A more than useful tool for anyone either playing or coaching any sport but especially the greatest sport on a playing field.

Simply a "must read" also for any students researching in a similar field.

Looking forward to the next topic..
