Product Description

IT S 22 YEARS LATER, AND NORMAN BATES IS COMING HOME.

Just when you thought it was safe to step back in the shower, Norman Bates returns in this expertly crafted sequel to Alfred Hitchcock s acclaimed horror classic.

Deemed fit to return to society more than two decades years after his original crimes, Norman Bates has returned to his family mansion and adjacent motel. Joined by an unlikely house guest in the form of young Mary (Meg Tilly), things seem to be looking up for Norman until the grisly murders start up afresh. Has Norman really put his terrible past behind him, or is he losing his grip on sanity all over again?

Aided by a fiendishly clever script from Fright Night director Tom Holland, Psycho II is regarded by many as one of the most successful horror sequels of all time, with a plot that will keep you guessing until the very end...

    A truly excellent sequel.
Anthony Perkins returns as the infamous serial killer Norman Bates.
With rather sad undertones this is more of a tragedy first and a slasher film second, as Norman, now restored to sanity slowly becomes undone once more, this time caused by certain deceitful individuals around him.
With a great supporting cast and a beautiful score this film is a must for Psycho and/or Anthony Perkins fans.

... but as far as Horror slasher sequels go, this one is actually fairly good. The brutal, bloody murders are ramped up from the relatively bloodless first film. Dennis Franz is a hoot as the sleazy motel manager who took over whilst Norman was in the loony bin. Meg Tilly, sister of Jen, is the supposed damsel in distress and she does a good job. The returning Vera Miles adds a touch of class before meeting a sticky end. I enjoyed this film. I recommend it to one and all. The ending packs a surprising punch. Lee Garlington has a small, supporting role as a waitress in a diner that Norman starts working in. Tragically there's some gratuitous female nudity but it's just the once and is brief enough to not offend too much. Typically there's zero male nudity but, hey, whatcha gonna do? 8/10
