This box set fills the gaps that other completist albums miss; the collection presented here is an absolute must for die-hard fans and complete newcomers.
The box set contains all the Elevators four albums.
Luckily, some real live recordings are presented here, from San Franciso in '66, and somewhere in Texas in '67. The quality isn't amazing, but when there are so few legit live recordings of the Elevators (if any), this set is a treasure.
All the original album material has been remastered, and sounds like you always wished it could.
The real bonus here are the unreleased studio tracks, none of which I had ever heard, and only ever read about two.
The highlight of these tracks for me is 'Wait for my Love', which is a completely new version of 'Till Then' from the 'Bull of the Woods' album, and shows the Elevators ina completely new light.
I could go on, but if you've ever heard the name of this band and wondered what they sound like, this is your time...buy this CD and play it over, and over again.
If you already own Elevators albums, then this box set covers every part you never heard, and vastly improves the originals.
Most of the Elevators are still alive and still busy...it would be nice to think a huge royalty check can finally drop into their pockets, and their influence on much of today's music can finally be acknowledged.
Buy or Die, as they say...

A big claim for a band who sold so few records. Indeed, for most of the 1970's their records were all deleted. Their profile was so low that they were beyond legendary - almost mythical. I for one was never sure they really existed until 1978 when I spotted a copy of "live" (included here) in virgin in Leeds. I bought it out of curiousity. 25 years later I'm still excited by this group. Their songs are timeless - of the sixties, yes - but these days they're name checked by anyone that matters. They are still obscure, but their music has survived and is now available in a bewildering array of compilations and re-releases. But frankly, this is the real deal. All of the albums and more - Listen to this and go form a band.

A good collection of songs, but ironically none of the royalties from this superb release will go to Roky himself. The Roky Trust Fund was made as this became a problem.
