I have two ps4 controllers which came with my bundle and on both of them, the left analog stick is pealing, one not so bad but one very bad, is anyone else having this problem and does anyone know if Sony or amazon are doing anything to help this situation ?

There's a thread on Neogaf about this, seems like quite a few having this issue. I'm not, but then maybe I haven't played as much.

Thankyou for the information.

Yep got this with my bundled controller, after an hour or so it will become slippy so i can't use it properly. Very annoying as they aren't cheap and SONY has come out and said it wear and tear apparently, dunno how this is possible when its happening after only like 20 hours gameplay.

I've ordered these to save spending another £50 on a controller: ORB Controller Thumb Grips 4-Pack (PS4)

Played for at least 5 hours + per day since the 29th Nov and mine are no where near peeling or smooth. I think this has got to have something to do with a bad batch rather than across the board.

I agree, they're really too expensive and too good of controllers to not be using just because of the analog sticks pealing! Thankyou you've helpful

Personally I think my thumbs get a little sweaty when playing cod and FIFA and this May be the cause

Can't see any wear on mine but I don't press hard on them, you can buy thumbgrips on here for a couple of quid to protect them

What I don't understand is if there was any chance of the rubber wearing down, even slowly, why not make the top of the sticks replaceable - it would be easy to make them so they unscrewed. I don't believe Sony would want people buying new controllers every few months, it would hurt their reputation.

Very true, I've purchased the thumb grips which someone suggested in here anyway, they're just too good of controllers to not be using cause of the analogs sticks pealing

Guys all you need to do it buy the controller grips that go on the stick, they are £2.99 off Amazon... they are really good.

It seems that every controller that has these issues is a black one, and probably the one's from inside the box. Its probably a bad batch. I've used my red one for at least 80 hours and it looks good as need just as it should. I cant really help with the black one as I traded it in for 38 and got a blue one for 45, perhaps you should do the same. These controllers should be built to last a great deal of time.
