Two kingdoms , two kings - one has magic and deprived the other of their magic. This kingdom is starving.
To restore the magic King Marcus sends his son, Trystan and Trystan's best friend Davi to find the three mages
who are the only ones who can save his kingdom. Trystan is joined by his sister, Rissa and a Duke's daughter.
There are adventures during their quest; some fighting, a bit of romance and also betrayal. There were a couple of
twists towards the end that I didn't see coming. There was no sex or swearing in the book which makes a change.
A recommended read.
This is quite an intricate tale about two warring realms. One no longer has magic but the other does and unfortunately it's King has nothing but a thirst for power, an enjoyment of inflicting pain & a deep desire to seek revenge against the woman he loved that spurned him - Oh but she died in childbirth 20years ago so he figures crushing her husband, who happens to be the other realms King and her two children will do - after all he's been torturing her Father for all of those 20 years so it's time others suffered too, Right?!?!😳😳
This is a story of love, family, betrayal, murder & an epic journey to restore magic to their realm before King Calis invades or starvation kills their people 😢
Prince Trystan, his bestfriend & Second in Command Davi, Princess Rissa, Lady Alixa plus Avery their top sword Master & Edric one of Alixa's oldest friends, have succeeded in finding & gaining the agreement of the first of the Tri-Gard to restore the magic they ripped from their earth 20 years prior ... Now they must locate & convince the second. They know where the third is - King Calis has him in his dungeons!!!😳😢 Piece of cake 🍰😉
A thoroughly enjoyable read!!!👍

The prince has a loyal companion, part of the royal household, added from a meeting of his father with a Seer years ago. The king was given a prophecy of the future, by the seer, and understood that this young boy would keep his son safe and that his son would be responsible for bringing magic back!
Trystan, his sister and some other friends gather, to seek out the Tri-Gard and try to re-unite them to have them reverse what they did twenty years ago. Enemies of his father, have spies in his nation and know their every step. Some of the kings own men and trusted allies have been turned by the power of the evil King Calis, of Dreach-Dhoun. A new war seems to be on the horizon.
The people of Dreach-Sciene are poor, starving and weak. No real chance of opposing the army of King Calis. If Trystan and his allies cannot find the Tri-Gards soon, it will be too late for his people. They know that one of the Tri-Gards, Ramsey, has been held prisoner in the dungeons of King Calis and been tortured for the location of the other two for some twenty years. It is not expected to be an easy journey.
An interesting story of disbelief of magic, friendship, love, enemies and traitors. The after effects of war on the two different nations and how they are coping. It was a quick read as there is lots going on to keep your attention and interest. This is book one in the series and I would love to see what happens with the characters next.
I received an ARC copy of the book from the author and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Well written and excellently paced, Prophecy of Darkness is a perfect fantasy read. The storyline has a bit of everything: humour, romance, betrayal, loyalty, love, friendship and a cliff-hanger that will leave you wanting the next book immediately!
However the best part of this story is the characters. Each of the four main characters (Trystan, Rissa, Davi and Alixa) bring something different to the story. They are strong, well developed and extremely likeable. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series to see how these characters evolve further and how their relationships with each other develop.
Would definitely recommend 😊
Thank you to the author for providing a copy. All opinions are my own and provided willingly.
I just loved this book! I am pretty sure the pages turned themselves and it was all over far too quickly! Roll on May when the next book comes out and I can find out what happens!!
The story follows Trystan, Davion and Rissa as they learn about their kingdom, magic and family secrets. It’s got fighting, love, travelling..anything you could want in a really good story.
The characters are well thought out and you immediately root for the good guys. My only quibble, Alixa’s mouth, there’s no way she would get away with what she says to a Prince normally, and I wanted him to say that more.
I just finished a book that was a bit of a slog at times but I whisked through this in a couple of days. I could not put it down (and what more do you want from a book really?!)
Sooo glad I read this and really looking forward to Legacy of Light 😀
