This is an undemanding and very easy to read novel, but it's also one which is predictable in some ways, and not entirely convincing in others. Would a mother of three young children really spend more time worrying about whether her doctor admirer would find her wobbly stomach and stretch-marked thighs unattractive, if they ended up in bed together, than she would about what might happen to her life and her children's lives if her husband discovered her infidelity? And there were other aspects to the story which didn't quite convince me, but I don't wish to sound too critical or to reveal too much information and spoil the story for prospective readers. All of that said, and despite my reservations, I did find parts of this story well-described and enjoyable to read and, overall, I felt it worked as a light and undemanding switch-off read to relax me after a couple of hectic days at work - but it's most probably not one I would keep on one of my bookcases to revisit in the future. I do have three more books by this author, one of which is a non-fiction title: Hancox: A House And A Family which is about the Tudor hall house in Sussex that has been in Charlotte Moore's family since the 1880s and where she grew up - which looks very interesting and one that I am looking forward to reading and reviewing some time soon.
