I have searched and waited a long time for the re-release of these performances. You will either like or dislike these performances from the Marinsky Orchestra directed by Valery Gergiev with soloist Alexander Toradze who to my mind sets the sparks flying throughout and yes there is some tender playing. There are a few good recorded performances of these works out there. So as always, it will be down to the listener to choose between the different interpretations. But It's worth giving this one a Go?
