HASH(0x942aa6d8) out of 5 stars An Important Additional To Pastoral Care Scholarship 29 Oct. 2012

If you need to learn about the current academic state of Pastoral/Spiritual Care then this is THE book you need to read. It is the result of years of research and praxis by professional Chaplains and Clergy who work in the field. Now it is not a religious prolemic and there is no 'doctrine' other than that people are the focus of spiritual and pastoral care, rather than the Minister's agenda. I have worked with Parishes, the Military and in Trauma for thirty years and I wish that this type of book was available when I began serving people.

HASH(0x91f76fb4) out of 5 stars Best source for a chaplain to be. 8 Mar. 2012

I am completing my third CPE unit. My goal is to become a professional chaplain. I feel that my generation of chaplains to be are more than any blessed to have this source and guide on our way to professional chaplaincy. My learning goals for the present are self refelection and use of self in the outcome oriented chaplaincy model. I could never imagine to have this book so on time. Thanks to the editor and contributors of this book for such a great and wonderful resource.
