How i got this to work better...

How i got this to work better...
The Problem - The idea is good but it doesn't quite work. The highest strap fits around the largest part your calf so when you lie down it slips down and your heel raises up. This leaves your foot in a position that is better than wearing nothing but not doing the job effectively. If you tighten the lower straps to compensate then it digs into you and you end up removing it.My solution. I wear a neoprene ankle brace and use the long, stretchy strap to keep my foot in place, with my toes slightly raised. I can't say it is hugely comfortable but I can tolerate this all night and wake up pain free, with my plantar fascia healing in the longer, stretched position.I have also banned walking in bare feet and wear my supportive running shoes around the house. I feel I'm getting somewhere now. I just need to keep this up for a week or so until the fascia is fully healed.Good luck all. I hope it works for you.

Since March 2020 have suffered severe Plantar Fasciitis in the side of left heel. Consulted my doctor and physio carefully followed the exercises and stretches my progress was minimal.
Originally tried a night stretch sock but too much pressure on my toe. Getting desperate I tried this 'boot'. I have been very impressed. Sleep a little awkward but put extra support under the duvet to raise it away from my foot even managed to side sleep. Ok not perfect. The severe burning pain in my heel on rising has rapidly improved as has my ability to walk with less pain. I think this is due to the boot. Online info seems to indicate that night healing is 'ripped' if not healed at the correct stretch. I also wear when sitting for lengthy periods. My heel is not totally repaired but since using this 'boot' which looks a little like a ski boot definitely less pain and more mobile.
The base is quite long for me a size 3 so getting the strap adjustment with expansion allowance is important. Once comfortable you can use the quick release tabs which are useful especially in the night. This is not a flexible sole so personally would not attempt walking in the boot. It is very lightweight and I think for such a good item reasonable price. So in about a month I think substantial progress which if started at the beginning may have aided a quicker recovery.

I purchased this to help ease my plantar fasciitis pain, which I’ve been dealing with for almost a year now. I’m getting nowhere with physio, and the pain can be so bad that after resting I can’t put weight on my foot at all.

This splint comes at an affordable price, and is of a decent quality, however it is not designed for people with high arches like me. The sole of the splint is extremely flat and not foot shaped at all, so as a result I can’t fit my heel into it no matter how tight I do the straps, my heel keeps lifting up, putting all of the weight & pressure on the balls of my feet instead. This leads to numbness, tingling, and general discomfort. I’ve been unable to wear the splint for long periods, but when I have worn it, it’s helped to minimise my pain on standing.

Overall, it’s affordable enough to be worth a try, and it does help, but only if you can tolerate the additional discomfort from wearing it. I suspect that it will vary a lot from person to person, and people with flatter feet may have a better experience.

What a fabulous purchase. I suffer dreadfully from PF. I put this on for bed and woke up with no pain in my heel. Slight tightness in my calf, so obviously doing it’s job. Important tip. I took out the wedge. Your foot only needs to be in a right angle to work. Don’t over tighten the straps. Keep it comfortable. I slept like a baby with it on.

My plantar fasciitis has been excruciating for the last few months. I have been rolling, massaging and stretching, but nothing has really helped. After reading some more medical papers, I decided to try out this night splint.

The first couple of nights, I lasted only about an hour at bedtime before taking it off as it was obstructing my sleep - not only is it kinda bulky, but the deep stretch that it made me foot do became almost unbearable. I wasreminded about the article I read where podiatrists talked about their difficulties getting patients to "comply" with yours treatment, and I understood why!

The third night, I took an ibuprofen, and a gentle sleeping pill, unbuckled the middle strap, and managed to keep the splint on all night. The difference in the morning was incredible! I could walk (albeit with a limp still) rather than hobble.

I have continued to use it for another three nights and already the pain is subsiding significantly. Every day I see an improvement.

The splint itself is comfortable enough, but the stretch that it forces is definitely unpleasant. But stick with it! It might really help you! As soon as you realised the relief it gives after the first full night, you will probably feel more motivated to keep it on for future nights.

    Good luck!

I developed plantar fasciitis (GP diagnosed) about 4 months ago - I stepped onto a step and had a sudden excruciating pain in the sole of my foot. Months later and it was still very painful to start walking on after resting/sleeping. I have been trying all sorts of contraptions in the hope of finding something to aid healing. I bought this boot in small because it was way cheaper than the larger sizes. Im actually size 7 so my toes peep very slightly at the front but… it doesn’t really matter does it? It’s not like I’m wearing it outside the house! I can’t say it’s comfortable. To start with it was anything but! I understood that I needed to stretch the tendon out (my pain is in the arch) so expected it to be uncomfortable. I started wearing it for as long as I could bear it - which wasn’t long at all - and then gradually wore it for longer and longer each day. There is a detachable wedge which can be inserted at the front, under your toes, to accentuate the stretch. That proved too much for me entirely! I can’t say this brace didn’t help me, I’m positive it did, but it was a very gradual improvement (which may have happened naturally over that time of course). I understand it can often take up to a year to fully heal. However, I recently bought a Renpho shiatsu foot massager (here on Amazon) and that made a definite noticeable improvement after just the first use!

Consigliatissimo

5.0 out of 5 stars Sehr gute Dehnung
Reviewed in Germany on 18 August 2021

Daumen hoch!!!
