I bought Pro Tools 11 to form the foundation of my new studio, as it is the industry standard recording software. It is a very complex piece of software and this book does cover all of the bases. It is a great reference book, and the only criticism that I can level is with the accompanying CD Rom. It seems the publishers have missed a trick and could have covered each chapter with supporting videos. Overall this is a very professional and well presented publication, and is a prerequisite for those people who have moved on to Pro Tools 11.

I have been using Pro-Tools 11.3 for just over a year and have made good progress in producing audio recordings. Pro-Tools 101 is set up as a Pro-Tools course but I am using it as a reference book, dipping in as and when needed. I am finding it extremely useful as a means of consolidating my 'beginner's knowledge' and showing me the right way to do some of the things that I have worked around in the past. Recommended for new users.

Nicely printed and laid out but 'traditional' composer/arrangers who work with full scores and virtual instruments are neglected and there's no mention of importing Midi or other multi-tracked files for this purpose. I can't find anything on Google, either and I'm left wondering if Pro Tool is for me.

Top notch, well written. It has pictures too (sorry not pop out) so if you're a drummer or bassist trying this you should be ok.

A good overview book but not enough depth for me, great for first timers though.
