“No one weaves together sizzling erotica and ace storytelling better than Janine Ashbless. Her books are always a pleasure to read.” — K D Grace, author of The Tutor & The Initiation of Ms Holly
"Janine Ashbless creates pure magic with words—her stories are darkly erotic and enticing, powerful and wickedly strange, yet at their very core, romantic. Poetry for dark angels and a tale that will literally hold readers enthralled...hold them, and not lightly set them free.” — Kate Douglas, best selling author of Wolf Tales, Spirit Wild, and Intimate Relations
“I adore Janine Ashbless' Watchers series, and The Prison of the Angels is no exception. Like the previous two books, not only is it extraordinarily well researched, but beautifully written. The pacing, dialogue and characters all combine to create a modern classic that's impossible to put down.” — Anna Sky, Sexy Little Pages

If you haven't read the other two books yet, what are you doing here? Go buy them, quickly and launch yourself into the world of angels and sex and battling and courage and panic that Janine Ashbless whirlwinds together around Milja, her brave, guilty, angry, horny, self-sacrificing heroine.
Milja grows more powerful yet remains convincingly human throughout her adventure. She criticises herself a lot, but she's not really guilty of anything more than being human. If I've one complaint to make, it's that Azazel is a bit less present for this book. Perhaps we need some outtakes :) The rest is as bloody and tense and exciting, and the sex is as fraught and heightened as you might expect. No disappointment or lapse in continuity there. We have further revelations about Egan's motivation and inner struggles and where he fits in between Azazel and Milja. We find out a lot more about the Angelic world and favourite charaters like Uriel :) One thing I love about the book is the constant motion, the swirling from location to location that Janine does so well.
Buy in confidence, it won't disappoint - even if it didn't make me cry!
In principle, this could be read as a stand-alone story, but I strongly enourage you to read the first two in the series. It’s imaginative, sweeping, full of twists and turns, and I genuinely had NO idea where Janine’s story was going right up until the end. She brings together myths from different cultures as well as archangels and angels who, being truly inhuman and created in a particular way, have a multitude of what we call human failings as well as unimaginable powers.
And the ending was, well, endearing.
I highly recommend the series for anyone who loves intelligent fantasy and romance.
And then there's *that* hot threesome scene... just wow!
