Great book for those who seek information about how to design repeat motifs for fabric etc, simply explained. Definatly a book for the serious student. Crafters would absolutely benefit as well if they want to design their own fabric for projects. I will benefit in this respect as a quilter and have started already! Just have the book 3 days and had the confidence to make a start There are other books about that are good in their content but this book takes the reader seriously wherever they are starting from. Good case studies bringing in all standards from small designers to the great and the good. They all had to start somewhere. Buy this book if you want to see and learn how it is done.

I'm currently studying printed textile in university, so thought I'd give this book a try. It provides extensive knowledge into the subject. and gives you advice on areas like repeats, some Photoshop skills, and the artists who are involved in the print industry. It helps to steer your ideas in the right direction, however I felt that as a second year student I had already acquired this knowledge from my first year at uni, so I would recommend this book, but to first years students, or anyone with an interest in printed textile design.
