'Princess Ponies' is a story of a little girl, Pippa who loves horses. Day and night Pippa thinks and dreams about horses. She and her family are just about ready to leave on vacation, when Pippa's sister had to wake her up from a nap. Pippa had been having a glorious dream about horses. But, off they went in the family car.

Pippa's family went to the sea shore, and after they unpacked the car, the family went down to the beach to have a picnic. Pippa was too excited to eat, so her mother let her go in the water up to her knees, and that is when the adventure begins. When you read this story you will learn all about Pippa's adventures and what she saw in the sea.

This is a fun story for children, particularly those children who love Princesses and Ponies. A really fun part of this book is a silver horseshoe necklace with eight stones on the horseshoe. This will be a nice surprise for the child who is lucky enough to receive the necklace. The author, Chole Ryder, has written a book that will delight all children. It was not until I got to the end of this book that I realized this was only the first part of the story. There are other stories in this series to read before you come to the end. That should be explained right away. There will be some disappointed children, otherwise. My granddaughter wondered where the daddy is in this family. There should be some explanation. The illustrations are done in black and white, which depict Pippa and her adventures. I look forward to book II.

As a mum of a 5 year old who has Just got into ponies, horses and princesses, this seemed like the perfect fit! I did a quick read-through myself. The cover is So Pretty and magical. But then once you start reading, it's like Nancy Drew meets Blyton mystery meets modern day. There is a clear sense of adventure and confidence building, for a young audience, with a strong role model in Pippa. A Great little book and I Can't Wait to read it to my daughter! I may post a review from her in the future! But I imagine we will be buying the whole series..

It was a good story. It was funny, there were loads of jokes. I liked the characters - I liked Pippa best, because she was the main character. There were lots of ponies in the story. My favourite bit was when she rode on the giant sea-horse. I'm looking forward to the other books in the series.

My niece has been reading Princess Pony books so when we had a chance to read one my 5 year old was so excited! I didn't know much at all about these stories but it turns out that this is the first in a series of six books about the magical horse land of Chevalia. Chevalia is peopled by horses, there are no people there. As you would expect from the title they have a horse royal family too. But things are not all well in Chevalia as the eight magical horse shoes that keep the place in existence have vanished, they need to be found by Midsummer's Day or the island will disappear. Pippa is brought to Chevalia by two impressive sea horses as she could be the one to find the magical horse shoes and save Chevalia.

Pippa arrives at Chevalia where she is greeted with a mixture of welcome and suspicion by the horses who have never seen a human before. Pippa makes friends with Princess Stardust and realises she has to help locate the missing hose shoes. The two become friends,( I liked the scene where they both recognise that to the other they are usually a pet) and set out to search for the golden shoes.
The book is well written, it has humour, mystery, princesses and, in this first story, a focus on friendship. We enjoyed all these themes and they are all things that appeal to young girls. If you have a horse lover then I am sure she would love them, but even for a non-horse person there is much to revel in. I was slightly apprehensive about whether I would like reading this to my daughter, but it turned out to be better than expected.

Really good fun. My 5 year-old daughter loved this, and there's plenty of knowing humour woven in for the grown-ups to enjoy. We've read it several time and are looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
