I don't normally write reviews but felt I had too for this one. I was really looking forward to this DVD, I wanted to watch the moments of William and Catherine's wedding day again. Boy was I disappointed!

What I got instead was a picture that was not clear in some places (burred). The editing was bad. I expected to see Catherine walking up the aisle what I got was her at the beginning of the church and then her at the alter no walk in between. They missed her brother's reading, they more or less missed the marriage ceremony, Her bow to the Queen was not there.

William and Harry's drive up the mall was not there,I was under the impression that Prince Charles was William's father they never mention him and more or less cut him from any shot. They missed the wedding guests, (only showing Elton John & Tara 'no nose' T) no Royal family arriving they only wanted to show the Politician's i.e David Cameron and John Major they missed most of the wedding!!!

What you had instead were all these presenter's giving their opinion of how the day went and what Catherine was wearing. Eve Pollard it was not your wedding, you would of thought this DVD was meant to be 'All About Eve'. They also spent most of the time going over and showing previous Royal Wedding the Queen's, Margaret's, Anne's, Fergie's Princess Grace and of course Diana's, like they were trying to fill up the tape. Just a pity that they did not show more of William's and Catherine's Wedding the people who this DVD was meant to be about.

Very disappointing DVD, stick with the BBC or ITV, I would return it if I could. I have not watch the first DVD in the pack about the Royal Engagement who know's what kind of mish mash I will be watching.

In short it felt like they had not been invited and had bought along an undercover camera that they pull out every now and again.

I arent a huge royal fan, I actually bought this for my grandparents as an anniversary present as they are huge fans of the Royal family. I did look at other DVD's but this one covered the engagement as well as the wedding so it felt like it offered more value for money. My Grandparents loved it, very very pleased.

A wonderful record of the British genius to portray splendour on these great state occasions. Thrilling music and architecture to enhance the timeless ceremonial of British Christianity as it places its blessing on these two young people.

I bought this DVD set as a gift for an elderly aunt of mine, who is obsessed with anything to do with the Royal family. She already has the BBC DVD of the wedding, which frankly, I found a bit dull, so initially, I wasn't overly looking forward to having to sit and watch this with her, as I assumed it would be just another rehash of what I'd already seen. To my surprise, this set was a lot better than I'd expected.

The first disc of the two, is essentially the backstory of how William and Kate met. There's plenty of footage of a young William (from his days as a toddler, in the arms of Princess Diana) up to his days at University, where he first set eyes on Kate at a fashion show. Equally, there's a wealth of information about Kate and her family. It's all done in a very bright and breezy style, as evidenced by some of the interviewees (the editor of 'Heat' magazine, the Sun's Royal correspondent, etc.)

It doesn't shy away from showing some of the less than happy moments in the lives of William and his immediate family, such as the death of his mother, and some of Harry's clangers (such as his wearing of the Nazi costume at a party). It also shows Charles' disdain for reporters and the press in general. It certainly adds an element of edginess that is sadly lacking in some of the other DVD releases available. If it had only featured a few choice moments from Prince Philip, this would have been perfect!!

The second disc concentrates on the wedding day itself. Things slow down a bit here and there are a lot of lingering shots of the crowds and the Abbey. Plenty of footage of guests arriving.

I really enjoyed this box set. It was nice to recall the key events that also reminded me as to why this couple are so special together. The DVD's took me on a real journey, from how they met to their engagement announcement all the way through to recapturing many of the magical moments of their wedding day. It was enough for me to be reminded as I did not need to watch the whole ceremony in full again. It was refreshing to get a broader perspective of them, both as individuals and as a couple. It might not be everyones cup of tea but I also enjoyed the historical elements of the programme it was interesting to see footage from some of the previous royal wedding from the past... a real time capsule.

Overall I though the DVD programme's were entertaining and personal. Maybe not a BAFTA award winner for it's style... but a great little purchase all the same.
