The parallels between Baldwin's three periods of premiership and our own - in coalition and national government at a time of deep recession, high unemployment and national debt are uncomfortable to say the least. Essential reading, I should say.
This biography of Stanley Baldwin is one in a thoroughly worthwhile series of political biographies from Haus Publications that are admirably concise and inexpensive.
