The object of his lust, affection and love, Poppy Danforth, is not the most endearing heroine I've encountered, but I suspect that that's intentional. The reader is supposed to concentrate on Tyler and his struggle; who he struggles for is secondary.
However, that doesn't mean that the 'struggles' can't be as hot as lava (I purposely avoided using 'Hell'). The sex between Tyler and Poppy is scorching, erotic, and totally unputdownable (if that's even a word). As an atheist, the location for some of their encounters didn't offend me; although if you are religious, this book is not for you. Unless you enjoy being offended.
I saw this book as being about a man who struggles with his conscience and his life's path; religious or not, that's something most people can empathise with. It's a well written, thought provoking book, and not just the taboo, titillating page turner I thought I'd find. Bravo.
Tyler decide to become a Priest after the church let down his family a number of years ago. Through his passion to make things right, bought up in a religious family he takes the oath. One day Poppy walks in to confession, and so begins his struggle with his faith and his attraction to this young lady. I felt this Mans struggle for control and I felt for him and his passions in life and to decide on the right path for him. Read this book, you won't be sorry and it is a standalone too.
This book is beautifully written. I will definitely be on the look out for other work by this author
