I love stories with gigolo's as a main character and them eventually falling in love with someone they think they aren't good enough for etc.
Honestly the characters of Reese and Mason were amazing. I honestly loved both of them. I cannot honestly say who I liked better because they were both just brilliant.
After all that the character of Reese had been through she should have been a lot more uptight and shy/quiet than what she actually was. I loved the fact she wasn't a meek, scared female, she was strong and funny and written extremely well that I loved her from the first page.
The beginning of the book was when we are introduced to Mason and reading the scene I felt sick for him and that woman, just hideous. I can understand why he became what he did though and honestly he seemed in so much agony and tortured that I just wanted to hug him throughout the book.
He spoke such sweet words too and during the love scenes, well...I just wanted to fan myself they were so hot. The chemistry between the two characters even though they were young was just so well written and I was silently screaming at the kindle "kiss her damn it!" it was worth the wait though when they eventually kissed and then made love...WOW!
There were things in this book that if it had been in other books I most likely would have hated it BUT because I could understand why Mason was doing what he was doing, it made it seem a little better even though If you had to think about it indepthly it would be totally icky.
I have to say this has been one of my favourite reads this year and having never heard of this author before I will now be on the lookout for her other books :-)
Ms. Kage, you hit this one out of the park.
5 shiny stars from me. Bloody brilliant!
We learn in the prologue as to how Mason was bribed into becoming a gigolo and did it to protect his Mum and his sister Sarah. You can't help but feel sorry for him and once he meets Reese he hates his 'profession' even more because it's stopping him from getting the girl. Their romance is slow burning because they are both holding back, Reese because she doesn't want a relationship with a gigolo and Mason because he knows he's not good enough for Reese. They begin to flirt and grow closer. I liked the pacing of their romance.
I loved Reese and Mason together and wanted them to get their happy ever after. It wasn't a five star read for me purely because it is a bit too lighthearted but that's not a bad thing, just it can come across a bit unrealistic and the ending is tied up a bit too neatly which again came across unrealistic but that's my only criticism.
First read for me by this author and I liked her witty dialogue and writing style and have just download the next 'Forbidden Men' book (Teacher/Pupil!).
