Bizarre. Dark. Divergent. This is the recipe for the first book I read in this series and yes, not only can it be read as a standalone, it is also perfectly categorised as such. Why? Well, how many times have we all read a book in a series which we haven't started from the beginning and had trouble getting our heads around names and places? So to my delight, I sailed through this book without any confusion. However, it wasn't without its heart-stopping moments. I was forewarned that the story might not be to my liking. Far from it! The protagonists' pasts in a plot which had its twists and turns, kept me on the edge at all times.

Quote: Ivan ~ "Where did you touch yourself?"

Candace ~ "No, don’t …. don’t make me tell you."

Ivan ~ "No, little one. You’re going to show me."

The heroine's submissiveness towards her 'cum-captor-master' in every sense of the word, made me want to pull her hair out. After reading the first few chapters, I could only imagine she had never had the option of parental refusal to acquiesce, had never known any better and for this reason, she acted the way she did. I quickly came to the conclusion that her upbringing was a religious one since young adults don't usually ask for absolution and a character from a sect would come back to haunt her. She wants that freedom she has never had though. Poor, poor lass. When she realises what is in store for her, and with no means except for her strong survival instincts, she fights tooth and nail. Inadvertently disobeying, her punishment is outrageously harsh. And when the opportunity to escape the hellish situation she's in arises, she doesn't think twice.

A dark story that will leave you drained at the end. A roller coaster of a book that keeps you gripped and leaves you wanting more. I'm a new reader to this author. I'm always hesitant to buy a book from an author I don't know but I'm so glad I did. This book isn't pretty it's raw it's gritty and it's bloody good!

Complimentary copy given in exchange for an honest review for Klaire’s Kollection – 3 - 3 ½ stars
I really like Skye Warren’s work but I think this is my least favourite, I can’t put my finger on why but it didn’t evoke the same feelings I’d normally get from this author. I enjoyed it but there was something missing for me. It wasn’t as intense as previous book and I didn’t find it all that dark to be honest, maybe that’s where I felt it let itself down. I’m not sure really. It felt underdeveloped story wise, characters too I guess and I really wasn’t on board with the whole “Daddy” thing. It creeped me out, not so much at the beginning but more so when Ivan and Candy got together. It just felt….seedy. The writing was good as always, but there was a disconnect with the characters and plot line in general that stopped me thoroughly enjoying it. I liked the theme, I’m always a sucker for that kind of thing but that was really about all. Unfortunately I can’t go further than a 3 ½ rating for this.

This book should come with a warning! Don't read it before bedtime or run the risk of hitting your husband/boyfriend/significant other in your sleep. I did and I blame Skye Warren.

There was a whole heap of things going on in this book. Strange religious cults. Runaway teenagers. Dancing girls. Spanking. Oh my! No wonder I was all a fluster.

The plot has intrigue, a little violence and a hot sexy alpha in Ivan. Candace has daddy issues real bad and some of her scenes with Ivan were a tad tough to read. Nonetheless it was well written.

I read somewhere that Skye Warren writes dark, sexy and erotic romance that is also tender. It is so true, i totally agree with this statement. Her books make you go oh my! and then she soothes you with the tenderness that she also adds into the story. Ivan is a force to be reckoned with and he makes Candy his in many ways but the truth is i felt they needed each other more than they realised and i loved how the story panned out. If you do not like fluffy romances which i am not a huge fan of the majority of the time, this series, author and book are for you

I was given this book in return for an honest review
ok I'm a virgin to Warren sky's books and being the 1st I've read I really enjoyed it , ok I get a lot of people getting put of by the daddy / little one sunoruio but I managed to by pass all that I get he wanting to keep her as some sort of little girl that he could protect and for her to see him as a daddy figure as she never had one, I think this just kinda came out of habit for the characters, I liked the way the story came together and look forward to the next book

Wow! I have been impatient for Ivan and Candy’s story ever since reading the first book in Skye Warren’s Stripped Series and it was most definitely worth the wait! It is one hot, dark and crazy read that delves deep onto the psychology of abuse and indoctrination and the tension between safety and control and danger and personal freedom.

Throughout the series, Ivan and Candy’s relationship has always been a bit of a mystery – like the characters themselves, but we have glimpsed enough to suspect that there is definitely something dark (and perhaps a little perverse) going on between the two…. This book finally spills the beans and propels their romance forwards into a dark, erotic and thrilling denouement that pushed all my buttons and at the same time hammered against my comfort zone! I loved it!

Both Ivan and Candy have horrific personal stories and their actions and in particular how their unorthodox relationship develops, makes more and more sense as the book progresses. Their history both pulls them together but at the same time threatens to pull them apart. We witness how Candy feels safe in Ivan’s company and craves the domination and the touch of the man she has grown to love. Ivan is one alpha male I will not forget and his domination and control of Candy is an outlet for his emotions. For Candy's part, she cannot escape the fact that she has become his plaything and realises that she has escaped from one captivity only to replace it with another. Their erotic love making scenes are superbly written, but their happiness is far from guarenteed. Moreover, someone is threatening the girls at the Grand and Candy’s past and present collide. With her safety and future at stake I was on tender hooks to see if Ivan could protect her from this threat or even from himself.
