Written by animal lover Dick King Smith, "Pretty Polly" is one fantastic story. Farmer's daughter Abigail looks after the chickens, and decides to teach Polly, her pet hen how to talk. Only the trouble is that once you've learnt to talk, you can't stop, and it is harder than she thinks to quieten the chatty chicken. A funny, exciting, clever story, "Pretty Polly" is well worth the read, the money and the delivery.

Format: Paperback
This story was about a girl called Abigail and she taught a hen called pretty polly to talk. One day a salesman came in and oneded into a flock of hens that pecked and scratched him. That night a fox crept in and took three of the farmers best cocks. Polly got such a frite she lost her voice. Then she had babies and she got her voice back. Then a duke came and he thort Abigail was pretending the hen could talk.
Pretty Polly could talk because she was very clever.
I liked the book because it was strange and interesting and I found out something about Dick King-Smith and I found it very funny. By Bethea aged 7 years.

About the author:
Dick King Smith is a famous children's author who writes mainly terrific tales about animals. He is the creator of Babe the Gallant pig, which has been turned into a movie, Dick King Smith lives on a farm in Gloucestershire and has been writing since 1978. When I am older I will do a PHD on him, hopefully, because he is one of my favourite authors.
