I knew I had enjoyed the first book because I'd left a 5 * review but I needed to remind myself of the story, I wanted to start the series from the very beginning so I started to read and as soon as I got to a certain part where Harley got attacked, I thought OMG I remember this story, well most of it anyway.
Even though I had read it before I was totally gripped which I'm sure I was the first time and I really did have trouble putting it down for any length of time, the character's, the raw emotion just jumps out at you and when I got to the end I was so glad I could go straight into the next book.
Pretty Pink Ribbons again stole my breath from the very beginning, we now had a name to the girl that stole Levi's heart.. Laney!
Desperately wanting to know everything about Laney, what she is going through, what her plans are and where will Levi factor in all of this has you totally consumed almost Imediatly.
I've now read two books in this fantastic series and I have to say this author is going to the top of my list and just like Where We Belong... Pretty Pink Ribbons captivates you because of the fabulous characters and the extremely well written story that's full of so much raw emotion, I cried so many times but it's been a constant thing throughout.Read more ›
Will you cry reading this book? Yes but it is all worth it!
I look forward to reading more books from KL Grayson
This is one of my favourite books!!!!
This book hurt my insides at times and then made me smile what a roller coaster of a book.
This is a woman's journey that make you glad to feel your heart beat and it touches your soul.
Laney has such a great strength, firstly to let Levi go to make sure they both had a chance at reaching there dreams, to come back home to fix the biggest mistake of her life, to fight the disease growing inside her, to get up every day and see beauty in the world around her, to help a complete stranger less fortunate than herself.
The connection that Laney has with the people around her, Benny, Mia, Luke, Levi, Mason, even Mary the complete stranger she touches each and every persons life with her profound kindness and out look on life even in the face of her own struggles.
I loved the relationship that Laney and Levi had throughout this book, these were two people mad for each other. Levi was such a gem of a man.
The ending was perfect, just a perfect way to finish such a wonderful story.
K.L. Grayson has a writing style where you feel that you are inside the story living with the characters, you feel everything the characters are feeling.
Laney Jacobs in back in her hometown with one thing on her mind: to make Levi Beckford fall in love with her again. But Laney is withholding a very big secret from Levi and it’s only a matter of time before Levi’s world comes tumbling down.
I didn’t realise PPR was book two in a series, my suspicions were raised when Harley was introduced with a familiarity, usually my series OCD can’t handle me skipping books but as I was partway through, I pulled up my big girl panties and continued on. So I will say this book can be read as a standalone, Levi and Laney’s story is contained in one story although now I am intrigued to go back and discover Ty and Harley’s story too!
PPR carries a strong message and I like that in books, it deals with the topic of cancer realistically and respectively. Laney looked at life with a set fresh of eyes and she made it her mission to right all her wrongs and make peace with her life.
Admittedly, I was after more emotion. I wanted the ugly tears to fall. I did think Laney and Levi were quite hard to feel for as a couple because their history was already written, as the reader; I didn’t get to experience that. Perhaps that prohibited my ability to really fall for them and feel their heartache as if it were my own.
The writing style was easy to follow and both Mia and Benny were intriguing characters. I’m sure many readers will fall for these complex characters and if you love second chance romances, you must check out this one today! ~Ava
