Remember when football management simulations were fun? When you could experience the blood, sweat and tears of an entire season in a single evening? Complete with a modern, widget-driven user interface, Premier Manager is truly "pick up and play". It's in-depth without being confusing, making it THE football sim for those of us who don't normally have the time to play football sims. After all, there's more to life than football… but not much more!

Let me take you back for a second, Premier Manager 98 was an awesome quick easy management sim. You could managed any team from the Premier League and all 3 Football League divisions, the players and clubs were real and the in game engine was from Actua Soccer with awesome commentary from Barry Davies. Wow..this series has gone bad, I was aware they made up to a Premier Manager 2007, but when I saw this I had to buy it out of curiosity.
I compare it to a once succesful tv show, that has been remade and re-released by people who bought the naming rights. The game is nothing like any previous succesful Premier Manager game, infact the fact that Gremlin no longer make this means they shouldn't be allowed to give it the Premier Manager name.
Its basically just an easy awful cheap game with fake players. Waste of time to release and will attract nobody other than children who are blisfully unaware that you can probably get more fun and action from Fifa Manager, if they can't get on with Football Manager.
Doesn't work on an older computer running XP either... won't even start on that one.
The game follows no rhyme or reason, I can be down to 9 men and win 5-0 away against Madrid, I can have the same team and 11 players on the pitch next game and lose 4-0 at home to 10 man wolves. (sending offs are quite frequent)
There is no real accomplishment to the game, you win a league or a european cup and its "meh". The money is easy to accumulate and its easy to sign players. Its very simplistic to play and no real engagement or the slightest tactical depth. The facilities feature is a bit tiresome, repairing buildings quite regularly and as money is easy to come by, there is no sense of achievement in attaining a 140k stadium and once you get this the money becomes even easier and the game then becomes very boring. It has provided motivation to get back on to FM12.
I would avoid if you enjoy managerial games, even at £6 it is still overpriced
