Jonathan Elias has skillfully produced a hauntingly beautiful collection of symphonic prayers sung in a diversity of languages by familiar voices from around the world including Alanis Morisette singing in French and Hungarian and James Taylor. The collection is reminiscent of a requiem but evokes the world we are building for future generations.
I enjoy the uncategorical nature of the album - it should appeal to those who enjoy classical music that lends itself to strong emotion and to those that appreciate powerful voices born of 'pop' music.

For the most part this is a well written, well arranged and well delivered choral symphony. What makes it really special is the variety of voices used. Alanis Morissette revelas what a stunning voice she has, singing in French and Hungarian. Her voice brings an edge to the music which perfectly complements the string and choral arrangements, and the raw emotion that she is famed for overcomes the language barrier and pulls your heartstrings, particularly in "Hope".
This is by turns soothing and dramatic stuff, supported by an array of highly talented singers.

This is a haunting, moving piece of music that should leave you breathless. The various artist who lend their voices to this album create an amazing atmosphere with the various languages used for singing and unique styles. It is a beautiful blend of world music and classical. It has beautiful poetry inside the booklet, that read alongside listening to the CD will leave you moved and lends a slight melancholic feel to the album. A brilliant album that comes highly recommended.

I heard one of the tracks on this cd on radio 2's Good Morning Sunday show and was immediately taken in by it.

What a simply fabulous sound - all those wonderful voices in different languages. Each time I hear it, I go to a lovely place in my head. Although it's really quite sad, in that it's about how we're messing up this world of ours, it's also full of hope and love...........

If you enjoy feeling good inside, I urge you to buy this album and listen to it whenever you need a lift - in fact play it even when you don't need a lift, JUST PLAY IT !

WONDERFUL !!

This music is so beautiful! It has a haunting quality, with wistful tones and also deep melancholy. You can distinguish the sound of Alanis Morissette in some tracks, and that wonderful voice is one reason why I bought the cd. I would consider this to be mood music, which needs listening to, not background sound.
I seem to get more from it each time I play the cd. It bears a similarity to some Bulgarian choir singing that I encountered years ago, as though the music comes from experience of darkness and loss.

This CD was on my wish list for ages, I kept looking at it but for some reason the cover image put me off. I finally took the plunge and as soon as I listened to it for the first time, knew I would love it. The music is not really what I expected - Alanis Morissette, James Taylor, John Williams, Linda Ronstadt and the English Chamber Orchestra are names I know - the others I do not - but together they knocked me out and will continue to do so, with the extraordinarily beautiful sounds they have created. Music with depth.

This is a powerful combination of film score themes, choral works and solo vocalists blending well together. It's not a mish-mash although it may sound like. Quite melancholic, but by no means is it sad or pessimistic, but rather beautiful and powerful
