The most concise, clear and readable book on a subject upon which much rubbish is written. Essential for the novice shooter and excellent revision for the experienced. Applicable to all types of shooting but of most benefit to the military, practical shooters and hunters. Read and learn from this book and your shooting WILL improve.

Practical rifle is an exciting and challenging type of target rifle shooting. It requires all the skills of formal target rifle shooting combined with a reasonable level of fitness and ability to think under pressure. This book takes you through the complete A-Z of the subject, moving targets, positional shooting, reading wind, etc. A must for beginners but also a very useful read for more experienced shots who aspire to hitting four 18" wide targets at 1000 yards in 20 secs.

I bought and read this book at the same time as 'The Art of the Rifle' by Jeff Cooper. Both were informative and well written, and cover much the same ground. If you are more interested in the technicalities such as allowances for windage and so on, as well as basic introductions to stance, breathing control, etc. then this book is for you. If you prefer more anecdotal information written with the US market in mind, then go with Jeff Cooper. That said, if you end up buying both you won't be disappointed !
