About the Author

Kevin Salter FCA CTA (Fellow) Kevin Salter is a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser; a partner in a six partner practice, Glover Stanbury & Co based in North Devon. He is a director of GS Financial Services Ltd which runs alongside the practice, and also a director of a document management company. He is also managing director of BBS Computing Ltd, the business’s IT arm. As well as providing training and consultancy to customers, BBS also produces software, one being “Tax Tips and Tools” which was winner of the “Best tax software” at the LexisNexis Tax Awards 2005, and also shortlisted for the 2003 and 2006 awards. Kevin is IT director of 2020 Innovations Ltd, a network of over 1,200 accounting firms, and director of Business-Work-Ware Limited, the company providing Docusoft document management software. (www.docusoft.net) Kevin is deputy chairman of the Technical sub-committee of the ICAEW Faculty of Information Technology and is an evaluator for the ICAEW Accredited Products scheme. He writes a weekly blog on the ICAEW IT Counts website, and also speaks at conferences on IT matters. His books on “Paperless Office for Accountants and Tax Professionals” and “Paperless Office for Businesses” have been distributed by ICAEW, ICAS and ICAI. Kevin was awarded “Best Chartered Accountant in practice” at the 2006 ICAEW South West Regional awards and also shortlisted again in 2007.
