This is my second pass on these books (2 volumes in one) and my first pass 20 years ago left me confused. After many strange journeys i've returned to it and each word is solid gold - written from experience and leading clearly through some really tricky esoteric material. Can understand the disclaimer at the beginning of the book (nobody is perfect) and then when he starts leading he is pulling you some of the most descriptive and helpful passages in regards to all the strange occult titles with absolute precision - leaving you free to understand it in your own terms in its correct place.

It's amusing to see himself confused with some elements (which he surrenders as not knowing rather than rambling like an idiot) that you yourself can probably understand - making you feel as an equal throughout and enlightened in a perfect way... astounding and a must for anyone touching the QBL.

Of the books I have read on the subject this is the one I keep going back to. The book strikes a perfect balance by being neither a casual and superficial read nor dense and obscure. It makes an excellent reference text and is based on the glyph of the Tree of Life. It provides a wealth of associated images, symbols, meanings, myths, etc that assists one in getting a sense of the nature of the paths/spheres. I definately recommend it to anyone who has done some basic reading on the Qabala and wants to make a more detailed study of it.
