I bought various Powermat products at prices greatly reduced from their heyday and they all work perfectly well since our household smartphones and sat nav all use the same exchangeable tips. The other tips are junk for our purposes and we don't have anything else for the extra tips you can buy. I'm guessing the Powermat range has been superceded but it still works well and doesn't take up too much desk space.

The Powermat charger looks quite nice, and togehter with the Powercubes you can charge most of the electronics we are surrounded with in our houses. BUT - I bought this for having a wireless charger for a Nexus 4 - and this don't work at all, no matter QI standard or not. So - don't buy this if you want to have it as wireless charger for the Nexus!
Said that, the design and thinking behind it - I will still recommend it in front of many other chargers....

Before you buy this product - think about it logically. The Powermat needs a wire, as does the Powercube. So instead of having one wire to charge your device, you now have two. Unlike some of the pictures imply, no devices work on the Powermat without a cube. So you'll need three cubes to charge three devices. There are plenty of universal chargers on this site with the same attachments that come with the Powercube.

It serves well as a universal charger and isn't expensive for what you get. It is useful to have one charging area in the house and is good for people like me who constantly lose chargers / have a draw full of tangled ones. But ultimately: why introduce the mat? It's just a middleman in the circuit, it serves no purpose. The only way this could actually function to save time and wires is if you could pop your device straight on to the mat - but you can't - with anything. Don't think that there will be any device that works without the cube because there literally isn't. You just plug your device in like you would any other charger.

This is an item you'll buy with wishful thinking. It's not quite a Bic for her, but it's close on the pointless scale.

For a cheap device then this is good. With the right additional cases it works (so long as you have devices in the right position). The idea of these is great, but I think this came out before the technology was there and I am not 100% sure I see the need for this as you put one of the USB adapters (the white squares in the picture) on the device ad then plug the cable into your device to charge it. I do that any way with a USB charger ?

Product is a per specification. Priced well. Sleek body looks really good. The additional USB port at the back allows you to use your a regular USB cable also for charging. The universal receivers are well designed are truly universal. Overall the package works well.

I bought one as a gift and then got another one for myself
Allows 3 items to be charged at a time so cuts down on the cable clutter and provides an elegant desktop solution
