Great little case

Great little case, built a Vortexbox using a dual core board and cpu? Would have given 5 stars but the supplied psu is quite noisy.

I have now upgraded my review from 4 to 5 stars as I had an intermittent noise from the psu. I contacted Amazon and had the whole case swapped out. The new power supply is so quiet I have plugged a light in so I know when its on.
One reviewer states you cant fit a 3.5" drive, that is incorrect, you just move the HDD rails further apart and mount the HDD label down.

Very small, smaller then I expected even after I made a mockup size of the case before purchasing it.

There is a very small fan on the back of the unit that I expected to be overly loud, as most small fans were, more so when I saw it was on a molex connection. However, it's near slient, and while it doesn't push much air flow, I didn't see a need to replace or remove it (something I was going to do).

The power supply on the other hand, that's quite loud when the PC is running, but does shut off when the machine is put into sleep. However it's not much louder then the stock intel heat sink anyway, so it's not much of an issue.

There is plenty of space for stock intel coolers as well, with holes across the side of the case directly above the cpu, so cooling isn't so much of an issue. There is no space for a low profile adapter card, even if you were to use a flex cable. You will be reliant upon onboard/cpu graphics.
Again, pleny of space for the memory, I was using standard corsair memory.

Cable management was a bit of a struggle, but nothing overly complex. It was more about pushing cables into excess spots. The power cables are long enough that they'll go to the otherside of the case, depending on where your 24pin power is, you shouldn't have a problem.

However, the wires for the case itself aren't as impressive. While the basics such as USB headers, Audio headers, Power sw, Reset sw, and HDD LED were long enough, for some reason, the Power LED was on it's own cable and fell short of my motherboard header by about 2 inch.

Modding. If you have the time, I'd recommend you cut down the the PSU cable if your motherboard's header is closer to the PSU, as you'll have a lot of extra cable. It's a bit of a pain having to push down and tuck the cable into the front of the case otherwise (with the latter not impossible, as it's what I've had to do in my build). Also, if you want the Power LED working and it doesn't reach, strip back the cable and heatsrink/solder or just get a 2 pin extention. Lastly, you can add a resister to the PSU's FAN if you feel it's safe to do so, just to bring the speed down slightly so its on par with the CPU cooler at idle speeds.
The haddisk rails allows for a 2.5" or 3.25" harddisk. We opted for a SSD for temp and air flow as well as the speed boost. Depending on how where your CPU is in the motherboard, you may not be able to mount a regular sized harddisk due to the heat sink. Check the internal picture of the bar that the harddisks attach to.

The case came with 4 rubber feet that allow you to mount it flat, or as shown on the product page also comes with two stands allowing it to moutn on it's side. The case itself has an additional spot for a extra fan next to the PSU (you an also rotate the PSU 180, so the fan is pointing on the outside of the case), so if you want to mount it in a weird position for what ever reason, you can do. Unfortunately there is VESA mounting points included in the case, however it fits behind a 22" monitor with ease and a simple bracket can be made up to hold it in place.

The case also comes with a bag of screws and some zip ties, as well as a small user manual, and power cable. The box for the case is great, not much larger then the case itself and has a small plastic handle on it. Great for handing over to it's next user.

I was so pleased with the look of it when I took it out of it's packaging. For the price it seemed very well built and looked perfect for a HTPC to sit under my TV.

When I went to fit my mATX motherboard, however, there wasn't enough room. I had bought this for a standard mATX, 244 x 244mm. The housing was wide enough, but not long enough.

The PSU had 2 sata connectors too, which would have suited me perfectly.

As I never had it running or fitted anything into it I cannot comment on how quiet this is, or easy to fit components etc.

If I'd had an ITX mobo I would have kept this

I received this case however there are some special requirements not listed which resulted in me returning it:
1. You cannont mount a 3.5" HDD inside the case if you are using a CPU cooler or any non low profile RAM
2. Replacing the PSU to a named brand is near imposssible, the case does not support standard SFX of TFX power supplies

This case appears to be often returned when I received it was missing the instructions and there was obvious scratches near the screws and on the inside of the case.

If you can find a ITX board with low profile ram and a 2.5" HDD then this case will work well, if you are using a 3.5" and any of the above then I would highly suggest a different case.

fits perfect in this case but even though I get power, the fans turn, the light goes on, but no video output or post. 300W is plenty for this build yet to find what the hell is wrong with this psu. This build works fine tested on another psu.
