Great bit of kit for Apple users. Works well with latest version of High Sierra. Does not speed up renders as far as I have tested but does increase real time workflows. Editing with lots of plugins it's ideal. Also for any Motion GFX but as I say.. Not for those seeking to speed up encoding.

I know the Vega 64s don't have a great reputation but i wanted a higher end card that took advantage of Freesync on my Ultrawide monitor.

When i first got the card i used the performance mode (switch on the card), this was incredibly noisy (my PC is 2 feet away on my desk) and very off putting. Performamce mode wasn't a great deal better than the normal mode.

The card wouldn't run much above 1250mhz when it's rated for 1632mhz. If you want the best out of this card then the secret (at least for me) appears to be undervolting the card (via the AMD Radeon software) and then increasing the cards automatic power limit to it's maximum. The card is now running at 1590 steady and the FPS has improved a lot.

This isn't a card for people who just want to plug it in and forget it but if you're after a decent freesync card for higher resolution monitors and you're prepared to do some tinkering it does work well.

Overall i've saved around couple of hundred quid over buying a GTX1080 and a G-Sync monitor of comparable specs to my current set up

One hell of a gaming GPU

The heatsink is massive and Powercolor Red Devil Vega 64 has the CPU fans to make the best use of that big heatsink!

Out of the box - OC bios is 4% faster than a reference RX Vega 64 at 318 watts using a Platinium PSU 94% efficiency.
Out of the box - Standard bios is 1% fast than a reference RX Vega 64 280wats using a Platinium PSU 94% efficiency.

Undervolt and overclocked with these setting at 350watts:
Standard Bios.
Memory Voltage Control: 1040mv.
P6 1050mv Frequency 1557mhz.
P7 1060mv Frequency 1652mhz.
HBM2 overclock 1100mhz.
Powertune Plus 35%.
Fan Control 2600rpm-3500rpm

I was able to beat the GTX 1080TI FPS scores in two games 2560x1440p:

Civilisation VI Ultra settings.
Reference GTX 1080 TI DX11: 84FPS
Red Devil RX Vega 64 UV and OC DX12: 96FPS

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War max settings:
Factory Overclocked GTX 1080TI=77FPS
Red Devil RX Vega 64 UV and OC=79FPS.

In many other games, the gap was down to within 12%-5% of the more expensive GPU.

Reasonable noise on Standard Bios and OC bios - undervolt and overclock settings where louder, but that is to be expected on air-cooling.

VRMs, even in the hottest days in summer stayed around the 70's. Creating an artificial load test of 420watts the VRMs settled in the low 80s. An excellent job by Powercolor on the VRM temperatures - matching the superb Sapphire VRM temperatures seen on the premium manufacturer for Vega GPUs.

Very good GPU - I would recommend not using coloured sleeve extension cables and using two separate 8 Pin PCI-Express cables from the PSU should plan to undervolt and overclock.

A very nice Vega 64, with a good amount of extra performance, should you ever need extra FPS.

POWERCOLOR RED DEVIL RX VEGA 64

I've been using this card for 6 months now. Very pleased with it, awesome for 1440p, glad i did not buy a 1080 even if it was cheaper, like 40 pounds less, cause freesync monitors are more afordable, 200 pounds difference, it is just too much.Drivers are stable, i do recomend undervolt OC rather then standard OC, whatever OC i have used undervolting always gaved me around 5 frames more(WITCHER 3,WW3).Takes a bit of tweaking but i really think it is worth it, and i really like tweaking with the settings.Also the AIB is awesome.

Superb performance and build quality

Comes well presented, and has the look and feel of quality about it. I run heavily gpu centered games and I've yet to find one that this card eats with ease. Using a Gigabyte Aouros gaming 370 K7 with 16gb of ram on a Benq 32 inch monitor. I give the card five stars, rare for me, but this is the card to have.
