Rodney Womack is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the NSCA, and has been a coach of several different sports for over 25 years. Besides coaching, he has won world and national titles in the bench press (WABDL) and raced motocross since 1971. In addition to coaching, Womack currently operates an internet business devoted to training athletes for motocross at www.motoxfitness.com. Although the book is great, certainly for beginners - it gives you a few workout ideas: do 4-5 sets of various pushups, doing 10-25 reps, and build from there - it doesn't actually include over 50 types of pushups, as it claims on the cover.
The book is spilt into three parts: Beginners; Intermediate; and Advanced. But the pushups don't vary that much For example, in the beginner section, you have the "feet-up" pushup (your feet on a box/chair/couch); then in the intermediate section, you have the same "feet-up" pushup, with your feet up on a stabilitiy ball; and in the advanced section, you have the "feet-up" pushup with a weighted backpack. In my opinion, these are not different types; they are the same type, just with slight modifications.
There's no mention of other pushups I have seen performed such as Aztec pushups, T-pushups, Spiderman pushups, Superman... oh, I could go on; I just expected this book to cover far more pushups.
However, I do recommend it. If you're a beginner and want to get into pushups (which I suggest you do), buy it. It's well laid out, simple to follow, and there are decent enough photos describing each pushup. Get this, get fit.

The book does show some push-up variations not covered in other titles like "The Ultimate Guide To Push-ups". I am glad to see suspended push-ups and push-up handles demonstrated. However, "The Ultimate Guide To Push-Ups" does include some push-up variations not found in this title as well. The two titles together represent a comprehensive collection of push-up variations.
If you want a complete arsenal of push-ups, just for the sake of variety I would recommend getting both "The Power of Pushups" and "The Ultimate Guide To Push-Ups" by David Nordmark.
Other than that, a good book.
