I'm a die-hard fan of the Disney Parks. I visit WDW/other Orlando parks annually, and generally keep up to date on all the goings on.

I pre-ordered this book when it first came out, and I am still really happy with the content for the Magic Kingdom and Disney's California Adventure. Great quality printing, some interesting facts, and extremely large!

My first issue is that is the only parks it covers. Tokyo DisneySea takes a back seat, and are simply the translated versions of their counterparts at WDW / DL. I was really hoping for some artwork for Epcot / Hollywood Studios / AK / Downtown Disney (Disney Springs).

My second issue is that several attractions that Disney would like to forget about (ExtraTERRORestrial for example) are not included, even though they are part of their history. Some of these are fan favourites, and their omittence will be noticed by any hard-core fans.

All in all, great book, shame that it feels like it's only half finished.

Anyone who has ever been to a Disney park will have noticed the many posters around the parks that showcase the main attractions. The more times you visit, the more you notice them and the more familiar they become.

This book captures a large selection of those iconic images and presents them in a single volume that flows through nine chapters coving all the Disney locations. As example, chapter Three covers Adventure land and pages 34-35 show how subtle differences are applied to the same poster in Disneyland, Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. These pages are also excellent at showing how the same image is recycled over the years. The original on page 34 is from 1962, and the four images on page 35 are from 1982, 1992, 2005 and 2008.

Worth noting is that this book is very large but fairly thin (144 pages). Next to all of my other Disney books this one is the tallest and looks a little out of place on the bookshelf.
The amount of text is limited, but visually this book is stunning and well worth the 5 star review.

book was bought for our son ,but the whole family is disney mad.
the book achieves what it set out to do ,and that is to inform the reader of the work that goes into every attraction ,and by advertising with the posters . the book is a priceless gem of information, and there is a possibility that we may have to gat another one as this one is already looking worse for wear, as it is an ideal information centre.
well worth the price and more. the book is a goldmine of disney information. if you like disney then this is for you.

This is a coffee table book that collects the posters for various attractions at the Magic Kingdom parks around the world over the years. And it's everything this fan has been wanting.

The book is broken down into various chapters by lands. After a brief one page introduction, the rest of the pages are filled with the posters for the attractions and restaurants in that area of the park. That can create some cross over for things like the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean that appear in multiple places in the various parks. But that's what the index in the back is for. They include posters for old attractions that aren't in the park any more. While posters are really only something for the Magic Kingdom, they do have chapters devoted to Tokyo Disney Sea and California Adventure as well.

But the majority of the book is filled with the posters reproduced in full color. We get posters from various times and locations side by side, so it's easy to see how they compare.

And the book is very up to date. The chapter on California Adventure includes the posters for the attractions in the just opened Carsland.

Anyone who loves this art work will love this book. By all means, check it out.

As a fan of Imagineering, Attraction posters & "coffee table" books in general, this particular release was always going to appeal to me & it's a truly lovely book for any fan of the Disney Parks to have in their collection. The vast majority of the book features attraction art from each of the Magic Kingdoms along with Tokyo Disney Sea & California Adventure & it was only when reading this book that I learnt & realised that posters haven't been created or certainly used to promote other parks such as EPCOT, The Studios or Animal Kingdom.

The size of the artwork on each page range from full size to much smaller images & many attractions have various incarnations of posters reflecting not only varying timescales & parks but also concepts as opposed to the finished article. My only criticism would be that whilst this is very much an "art" book & therefore includes exactly that, I would have preferred additional text to accompany the images. Aside from the introduction & a page of narrative for each "land" there's not a great deal to "learn" & whilst the authors have certainly released a handsome product I would have preferred a little more insight into the process of creating the posters that accompany these timeless attractions. It's for this reason alone that I've only awarded the book 4 out of 5 Stars ... some may be forgiven for thinking that perhaps I marked it down as for some reason (copyright perhaps) the book doesn't feature my beloved Captain EO poster !!!

Another wonderful release from Imagineering, here's to the next one ...
