"Some of the best writing I have come across in the short story form. Portsmouth holds all of the voices together." "Superb - varied, original and rooted. Don't leave the site without one!"

None of the stories are outstanding but there are a few interesting concepts – the ‘end of time’ two parter is, for me, best of the bunch with “Ghost Ship” being a decent ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ style yarn.
If you know the area then you’ll enjoy the settings and I’d say it’s a four star book. If you are not familiar with Portsmouth then it will hold less interest and drop a star.
"Heads and Tails"! The variety of literary styles in these collected stories will appeal to a wide range of readers. There is something for everybody. A knowledge of Portsmouth and the surrounding areas enhances the stories, but does not make them less enjoyable. Quirky, spooky, funny and plain wierd, I was compelled to see how each tale ended. Using my precious leisure time to be entertained by such a talented group of writers was a worthwhile investment. I look forward to their next volume of "fairy" tales.
