I have had it a few months and after the first month, the lining started to flake and I found pieces of it in my laptop ports. This is some of the internal rain protection so I was a bit annoyed. After a couple more months, the stitching around the shoulder straps has split and its running down the edge, slowly getting worse.
I only carry an 18" laptop and charger, mouse and a notepad. So, its not overloaded. And, its more about slight laptop protection, as I take it in the car, so its had an easy life. I cant get a replacement so Im using it until it gives in, then finding a different one. Shame, it had potential to be great. If I used this on public transport or for school life etc, Id be more concerned about the strapping giving in and the rain protection.
So I needed a laptop rucksack not only to carry a 17" laptop, but also a large-size Intuos 3 Wacom Table (34cm x 44cm) and spent an awful lot of time scouring the net to find a backpack suitable.
Eventually took a flier on this one and am glad that I did.
I can fit not only an Intuos 3 Wacom plus a 17" laptop into the rucksack, but also a MacBook Pro with them as well! ...plus power supplies, mouse and accessories...
After 2 weeks of lugging it around, I'm pleased to say that nothing's fallen off and the bag feels nice and solid to carry even with all of that tech loading it down. I just hope it holds-up long term as well as the old Eastpak.
Amazon stated that "two additional days" would be required to deliver it, but the order dispatched promptly and arrived early.
Item arrived in a large box, it came well covered in a plastic bag, and was surrounded by packing material.
No marks on box. Extremely good condition, since it came all the way from Germany.
I have an rather large laptop. It's a 17.3 inch ASUS. I thought that this bag would only just fit it.
On receiving the item, I found it fit my laptop and had space for tons of other things.
The laptop, it's charger, my coat, a Hi-Vis vest, numerous A4 pads, pencil case, my lunch and many other things besides could be
comfortably put into the bag. It has pockets and storage areas galore. The insides have small pen holders, and larger holder for
things like the charger, so they don't roll about at all. The laptop holding area is extremely well padded, even the bottom of that area
which is between the laptop and the floor is padded ( which was not the case with my previous bag ).
The rain cover comes out from a hidden pocket at the bottom of the bag. It's fluo-green and works very well.
THIS BAG IS MASSIVE. When I wear it, it covers my entire back, yet it doesn't manage to look bulky.
It's not like I'm going hiking when I'm off to college. It also doesn't really look like a laptop bag,
which is good, when you walk through city into work/college.
It's only been a week so far, but I think it's a really good buy.
The swiss-gear range had me considering buying something else, but I'm glad I bought this.
I just hope it lasts! ( No problems at all yet, but I'll update this in a few months )
A good size, reasonably rugged construction, plenty of pockets including one ideal for the kind of document you need quick and easy access to such as a timetable or streetmap.
Inside it is equipped with a good number of pouches in various sizes, just right for storing the sort of small items that usually disappear into the depths of a bag, and larger pouches useful for tucking larger items such as glasses case, phone charger and so on.
As a bonus for cyclists, underneath the bag is a Velcro flap that conceals a tethered Hi-Visibility yellow raincover that neatly stretches over the bag
