Polly Clark was born in Toronto and lives in Helensburgh on Scotland’s west coast and on a houseboat in London. She is the author of three poetry collections which have between them won the Eric Gregory Award and been shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize. Her pamphlet A Handbook for the Afterlife was shortlisted for the 2016 Michael Marks Awards. She won the MsLexia Prize for Larchfield (2017). Polly Clark has worked as a zookeeper, and for her forthcoming second novel Tiger (May, 2019), undertook a trip to the remote taiga of the Russian Far East to track these elusive kings of the forest.
