This is one of the finest jazz trios I have ever heard. It dates from the 50's and brought together 3 jazz players who were voted top by 3 different music magazines at that time. The resulting recording is wonderful with Barney Kessel's guitar leading Ray Brown's bass and Shelley Manne's drums in most numbers. This is a CD that should be in every jazz fan's collection. The playing is always brilliant and the arrangements fabulous. I cannot praise it enough.
Difficult to review a record (yes, record) made in the late 1950's. The fact that these Gentlemen were at the height of their abilities makes this disc an absolute must for anyone who still 'digs' this type of jazz. Also, of cause, being a CD, the reproduction is superb. I've seen all of these 'cats' live, and its like reliving these concerts. (or 'gigs' if you like!)
