I was given this book in turn for an honest review!!!
One cruel night took away the only man Violet had ever loved, Max her husband. A year later Violet is trying desperately to move on with her life. As Violet is learning to live life without her husband and build a career; Cameron enters her life. Can Violet open up to Cameron? Can Violet find the strength to move forward?
Point of No Return is a beautiful romance that will have you in tears. I was truly looking forward to Violet’s story and Olivia Luck did not disappoint, in fact she surprised me. She took a spin on the story that I wasn’t fully expecting. I could feel the pain and hurt Violet was feeling at the loss of Max; she was battling to not only move forward with her life but to keep her personality. I love the support network of friends she had around her, without them the battle would have been even harder. Cameron is a down to earth sweet guy; you could tell his feelings for Violet were 100% genuine. Dominic and Paige are two characters I battled with in this story. I wanted to feel for Dominic because he too was grieving; however it was frustrating how he was towards Violet. With Paige her attitude and demeanour towards Violet had me wanting to slap her!
I'm a believer that sometimes in life we have more than one soulmate who is meant for us and this story is proof of that; with time if we can learn to live with the loss and open up our hearts we can love again and in return find someone who truly loves us.
If you love contemporary romances with suspense and emotion you will love the Point series by Olivia Luck. This can be read as a standalone but to fully enjoy the book I recommend reading the two previous stories’ New Point and Pressure Point.
Third book in the New Point series focuses on Violet, Stella’s best friend and her struggle to right her life after the death of her husband. The book begins with two prologues; Cameron’s and Violets. It’s an unusual way to start but it most definitely tugs the reader in. Both are so different that you wonder how on earth this pair is going to get together. I have read the first New Point novel but unfortunately haven’t managed to catch up with the second, I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to follow this as clearly as I would have liked. It really wasn’t that much of an issue in all honesty and I read it no problem.
These books are really good; you come away with a really great feeling after wards. The style of writing fits beautifully with the type of story the author penned. If you’re looking for a hot between the sheets kind of read then this isn’t really for you. This is a sit down and think kind of book, one you get immersed in, lost in the emotion. Make no bones about it as this is heavy on that front. I mean it has to be considering the subject matter.
Violet and Cameron are two characters that you will fall in love with. The character depth is all there and I really liked the fact that although Cam was a single guy and played the field, it wasn’t really written about. Yes, there’s reference to it but it’s not in detail and this is the tome of the book. It’s not an alpha bad boy meets broken girl and voila….it’s so much more! Violet is so lost, trying to drag herself out of her grief. Olivia got that so right, she didn’t wallow her character too much but rather focused on her coming back to her life and that was really something to read. To see Violet come back to her own by herself. And to watch Cameron wait.Read more ›
I don’t even know where to start....this book did so many things to me. I laughed, I cried (many times), my heart was happy and sad. One of the most heart-felt stories I have ever read. Olivia’s writing is so genuine. The characters in her stories are so real and relatable.
“Yes I want her. Yes, I will have her. But I’m smart enough to know that we can’t have any sort of relationship until she’s ready.”
We have met the two MCs and the side characters in Olivia’s previous books, something I love!!
Olivia has a way of connecting her books together! It feels like a family reunion whenever I read them. The conflicts and anguish that Violet faces in Point of No Return is so emotional. You cannot help but to feel for her, to want to hug and hold her. Cam...Cam...Cam...where can I get me some of him??? He is strong, caring and hot!! The story between Cam and Violet is a fast-paced, emotional ride. Love is not one-sided, and Olivia gives us both Cam and Violet’s point of views.
“The time we spent apart was the sternest test of my patience. Tell me it’s over. Tell me we’re going to be together now, the way we’re meant to be.”
Again...totally in love with Olivia. I am obsessed with everything that she writes. Point of No Return is no exception. It is flawless and addictive. I could not put the book down...I read the book twice in one week. Point of No Return is a definite must read!
