I was simply blown away by the beauty of this colouring book. It's stunning! The paper is fairly decent, reasonably thick and an off-white colour. I only use pencils, which it's perfect for, but pens, markers and other wet media may bleed through. Some of the backgrounds have a textured effect like a canvas, which I really like, and others are on a plain background. The artwork in the book is just breathtaking and so unique. The designs are heavily lined and quite dark, but don't be put off by that. As with greyscale colouring, when you start adding colour it looks gorgeous. You don't need to be a skilled artist to great results in this book. Some of the designs do go into the center crease, but the spine is quite flexible and I haven't had too much trouble when using a fine point. All in all, I am simply thrilled with this book. It has gone straight to the top of my list of favourite colouring books and I can't recommend it highly enough!

Just received the book today, and I absolutely love it. This is a VERY different book from all my colouring books (and I have about 25), the illustrations are beautiful, different, bit of dark, bit of gothic, but I love it. I already coloured two pages, with Derwent Inktense, and the paper quality is superb, no bleeding through at all! My favourite book, no doubt about it. Love it, so happy I have found this book, I can only recommend.

I came across this book after stumbling on a review (there don't seem to be too many reviews in English out there), and I really liked the review & the images which were posted, so I thought I'd give it a try. The book isn't sold by Amazon UK (my copy came from Germany). I was given a delivery date of 4th - 23rd August, and it arrived on 5th, which I think was pretty good. It was very well packaged and in excellent condition.
As far as I know there isn't an English language edition as yet, and I don't know if there are any plans to produce one. There is a fair bit of narrative in the book, but don't let the fact that it's in Polish put you off - you can get a good translation using an online site if you're keen to know what it says (basically a bit of an explanation about the story).
From the review I'd read, I knew that the images were fairly darkly inked, but the completed pages I'd seen were stunning. i admit that when I first opened the book I was a wee bit concerned at just how dark most of the images are, but I'm now halfway through my first picture and it really does come to life when you start to add colour.
I normally use coloured pencils, but as I'd recently bought a set of Derwent Inktense pencils but not used them much I thought I'd try them in this book, and they could have been made for each other - the Inktense are very vibrant and they work amazingly well with the style of this book (I'm planning to colour other pages with pencil to see how well they work).
Even better, the paper quality is, I think, the best of all the colouring books that I have. It's bright white and pretty heavy in weight and I've had no bleed through, and only a tiny bit of buckling when using water to active the pencils (which vanished when the page dried).

absolutely gorgeous book, very different from any of my colouring books. Pictures are quite dark , both in subject and drawing style. Lovely thick paper that works wonderfully with my Derwent Inktense, the colour range of these goes perfectly with the subject matter. I really hope this youg lady produces more books, her work is amazing!!

I put off getting this book for a good few weeks I just wasn't sure about it at all then I saw a flick through and coloured pictures from the book and that made me decide I needed it lol
This book is gorgeous the illustrations are perfect karolina's art is second to none
The paper quality in this book is also fantastic a lovely smooth feel quite thick perfect for coloured pencils , markers and also water colours the paper seems to take the watercolour really well without buckling as long as you don't saturate the paper of course
If you haven't already purchased this book then your missing out

This review is taken from my blog where I review adult colouring books from a mental health perspective, more images can be found there. I received a copy of this book from the artist, I was not obliged to provide a review.

The title translates as On the Other Side of Sleep which I’ve guessed to mean that it’s showing a dreamy fantasy land and that’s exactly what you get inside, surreal, weird, wonderful and ethereal images that would fit right in to a dream land.

The book itself is 22cm square, paperback with flexible card covers with a partially coloured image from inside the book, the inside covers are a sage green colour. The spine is glue-bound and you will need to be a little careful with it to avoid loosening the pages over time. The images are printed double-sided and are a mixture of single and double-page spreads with the majority being single pages, they are all full-page designs that reach the edges so a little of some of the images can be lost into the spine. The paper is bright white, medium/thick and smooth but not shiny, though, in most of the images the paper looks a little grey due to the printing (this isn’t a negative, more on this later). Water-based pens don’t bleed or shadow and pencils work well on the paper despite it not having much texture, I used Derwent Inktense Pencils activated with water and the paper held up very well with almost no warping or buckling and any that did occur was because of my inexperience and lack of ability to be sparing enough with water!

The artwork is really unusual, in fact everything about the content and style of this book is unlike anything else I’ve seen hence the whole paragraph dedicated to it.
