Often times we do not recognize what is right in front of us, life gets in the way, timing is off, whatever it may be, we are lost. Julia and David's journey through this maze of life will leave you wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this delightful story of true love. Tell your friends, your book clubs and anyone who believes in true friendship, love and loyalty to read Plus One by Sarah Phelan, you will NOT be disappointed!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Plus One 16 Dec. 2013
By MiloXiang - Published on Amazon.com

Plus One is a fun girl-gets-boy, girl-loses-boy kind of book. Phelan's characters are believable, witty, and fun to read. This was an easy read and I was rooting for Julia throughout--mainly because she was well written--with a sharp tongue but deeply conflicted. The writing is stylish laugh out loud funny at times without being cheesy or coming across as forced. I look forward to more by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delicious story, excellently written! 1 Feb. 2014
By Leslie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
From the moment I picked up this book, I could not put it down. Sarah Phelan writes this story about people we all know. The people we went to school with or have worked with or built social circles with. These people that we once were or have become. The ones that fall in or out of love and sometimes with the same person our close friends used to love. This was an excellently written portrayal of how sometimes, finding the perfect match is not the same as finding the perfect match for your soul.

This book takes you through the journey of Juila and David's history together and keeps you wanting more. The intricate characters and how they are all connected are only part of what makes this book so intriguing. Sarah draws you in and makes you feel like you are part of this group of friends. You find yourself looking for the inside info on the characters.

In addition, as a person that for the better part of my life has made a career out of planning and catering weddings, I could not believe the massive insight this writer has into the Corporate wedding industry. I loved all of the special details that pulled this story together. These details truly made this book unfold before my eyes.

I look forward to many more from this writer!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A true pleasure to read! 19 Nov. 2013
By Mrs. McG - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The protagonist of this novel, Julia Santos, could easily be your own college roommate, best friend, or WhatIf. Her story - and that of her and David - will grab you immediately and will not let you go until you've joined them on their journey from middle aged married life to their college days and back. Phelan's ability to create extremely real characters is uncanny. From the tiniest detail of the Mother of the Bride neuroses to the true to life dialogue between two old friends - and lovers - each page brings you further into Julia's heart and life as a modern day working mother and wife. The wit, romance, and accurate snapshot of everyday life will compel you to keep reading Plus One until the very last word!
