Review

Move over Fifty - this gives far more pleasure ... a thrashing good read (Irish Independent)

One of those rare books that has stolen my heart, my mind and my soul ... a flawless, exciting and down-right steamy read that will stay with you long after your finish. (Totally-bookalicious.co.uk)

This book blows Fifty Shades out of the water ... I unabashedly adored this book (Ravingbookaddict.blogspot)

A combustive and sizzling tale, not soon forgotten ... There were times, while I was reading that I found myself so emotionally engrossed within the story and the characters that I found my heart skipping and tears welling up. (Romancing-the-book.com)

If you're looking for something hot and steamy with intense chemistry then you can't go wrong with this one. (Feelingfictional.com)

About the Author

Evie Hunter is actually two authors Caroline McCall and Eileen Gormley who met at a creative writing workshop in 2010. On discovering that they shared a passion for erotic fiction, they became the best of friends. In early 2012 they got a chance to co-write a series of erotic novellas for an online publisher. When they completed the second one without killing each other, they decided to take on something bigger. Eventually, they emerged into daylight, clutching The Pleasures of Winter, saying 'Never again'. Thankfully they soon forgot the agony and The Pleasures of Summer is the result of their second marathon writing adventure.

This was a great read and as much as I liked The Pleasures of Winter, I found this a much better story with characters who were much more likeable. One of the things I love about these books is how the lead characters don't have dark tortured pasts, yet they still have secrets and personal pain.

I warmed easily to both Summer and Flynn. He's sexy, full of fire and wit and is dominant and protective. As a Soldier, he is always cool, calm and collected, however his latest mission tests his resolve to the max. Summer. Daughter of a wealthy airline owner, she's the proverbial spoilt only child and she has a stalker. Feisty, strong-willed and stubborn she resents having a bodyguard. Particularly one who is dominant and bossy...in more ways than one.

Scratch the surface and both Flynn and Summer are deep, interesting chracters. It is well written, flows wells and their stubborn argumentative banter and disagreements lead to some very hot action. The Dom/Sub aspect isn't over the top or shocking and befits the storyline perfectly. With twists, surprises and some action heading towards the finish line, it was a book I couldn't put down.

A great read that I would definitely recommend.

I read this book very quickly! The titled character, Summer, is refreshingly not the typical damaged, fragile soul whom the alpha has to put back together. She's a brat, and very unlikable at first. Flynn arrives to take care of Summer, who's being stalked/threatened and he takes no nonsense!

I enjoyed reading the banter and comedy of wits between these two. There were some pretty hot scenes and all in a remote Scottish setting which was different.

You will find yourself caring about these two as you get into the book and anticipate fun and 'frolics'. The book typically has some bad guys, a jealous ex and a strangely affectionate brother, plus the usual nail-biting rescue scenario, but all in all, this is quite a fresh and enjoyable read.

I find it's better paying £2.99 for something well edited and well written than a cheap 77p bargain. It's false economy and you get what you pay for.

Loved this book as the authors characters actually live on the page.,Her writing has a decent story and isnt all sex and heaving bodies. But does grip you and want you to continue to read long after the mifnigh oil has run low!! Love Flynn the Dom in this. The kind of man you would want draped over a bed with a glass of champers!! Read all three of her books, all really worth the read and money!!

The second book I read by this author. It did not disappoint.. It was full of passion and it had a slow build up to the erotic scenes. On the downside , the storyline was not so adventurous as the previous book and although Finley was a hero to die for the female summer was rather annoying at times.

The story was linking to characters from her previous books and that made it a more rounded read. What I always love about the authors style is that is a little bit of a who did-it. Would recommend this.
