It's become somewhat of a tradition in our house to have a Playmobil advent calendar, and last year was no exception. This set, which is called the Christmas Post Office has been one of our favourites.

Unlike other calendars from playmobil we have had in the past this one required no assembly at all, other than taking out the cardboard 3D display of Santa's post office onto which all the pieces were placed as we opened the windows in the main part of the calendar, which is A4 sized and quite thick as it contains little boxes with the playmobil in, from 1 to 24. The little windows were easily perforated and opened by my rather excited children and from start to finish this calendar really did not disappoint. The first window revealed a post box with a removable back, soon to be followed by actual little letters to post, right up to a sleigh, reindeer and a Christmas Tree near the Big Day itself. There were also plenty of toys, 3 figures (Santa himself, an elf and an angel) and lots of nice little details; in particular the children loved the mini working stamp which actually prints playmobil Santas onto the little notebook which is included.

I found the set was a source of delight to the children every single morning, and even the display section was excellent, featuring as it did Santa's mail room complete with a desk and chairs and a separate stable area for the lone reindeer. There was a minimal amount of assembly with the items, the tree and sledge had to be put together and Father Christmas had to have his hat put on, but the end result was a very Christmassy and playable with scene that has been much loved.

This is a great calender. Its one of the new range which doesn't need assembling and comes ready to open. We enjoyed putting them together but some people didn't.

I think my daughter is going to love this. The only thing I found fault with is that santa arrives on day 6 but and the christmas tree arrives on chrismas eve! I think that should have been the other way around.

I like that this Advent Calendar is more traditional or "Christmasy" than more recent Playmobil ones. The new pre-boxed pieces are great, its all ready to go.

Every year i buy one of these, yes they are expensive but they are just magical. I have been after this one for the past 2 years but it has been really expensive. I saw it was reduced one day and I just had to have it. My daughter is nearly 9 and she still enjoys opening these in December.
Im trying to keep the christmas magic going for as long as possible.
After all Santa is real!!

I got the playmobil calendar for one child and the lego star wars one for her older brother. As advent calendars go they are fairly pricey, but I thought it would be nice, as a present every day etc. The stuff from the playmobil calendar has been variable though, some days they've been excellent, a santa playmobil character, a lovely little elf etc and then another day a desk with no moving parts or a frankly crappy little doll which you are supposed to wrap up in a little box provided to be one of the gifts. Today there was a basket which had a green thing with two prickles on it, what is supposed to go on there I cannot tell you, as there was nothing else in the little bag.

Perhaps if you have a lot of playmobil already things like the desk etc will give excitement for longer than it takes to open the door of the calendar! The lego one has been much better in that respect, my son has been so excited to open every day, and he's had the fun of building the parts too. I would get the lego calendar again, even as expensive as it is but I would stick with the ordinary playmobil sets in future.

A little pricey for what it is, but a must for any Playmobil Fan and is better than giving your kid chocolate everyday. Toys that last beyond Christmas, my is still playing with it even in September.

An excellent advent calendar/toy - as usual with Playmobil high quality figures/accessories. Am sure will be re-used for several Christmases.

This calendar gave my daughter many hours of play (she is 4 and a half). It was much easier to wait for Christmas. She loved the setting of a post office, which she could adapt to whatever story she was acting out(looks more like a room in the house and a stable). She also supplemented the set with other Playmobil figures she owns.

The setting is made from quite a thin cardboard. It seems to hold ok for now, but unsure how long it will be used with the snowy scene. The box will be discarded, once all the toys are out. I expect that the toys themselves will blend easily with all the playmobil-lego-polypockets she already has.

Would recommend highly. Will buy a similar item next year. I am also considering using the toys from any playmobil set, but placing them into the drawers of nice wooden calendar that I already own as the box adds little value or decorative element.
