"Playing the Coach" - She always daydreamed about getting down and dirty with the coach, and now he's looking for an assistant. Having landed her dream job, she's annoyed when the coach treats her as one of the boys. But she's determined to get him to change his attitude. Written in first person pov, this short story gallops along with verve & gusto, and will make you smile as naughty Vicky finally gets the coach right where she wants him! Very naughty, but nice and a fun read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Erotica Disguised as Romantic Comedy 7 Mar. 2013
By Joseph Souza, Author of Crime Thriller, NEED TO FIND YOU - Published on Amazon.com

Vonda Norwood has done it again with her romantic/erotic novella PLAYING THE COACH. Although this story is for mature adults only, it really is a sweet tale about the relationship of two high school coaches, assistant Vicky and head coach Jake Wilson. Vicky desperately wants to succeed in the male dominated sport of high school football, and she uses all her feminine guile to convince Coach Wilson to give her more responsibility. At first the reader might be tempted to believe that she's trying to sleep her way to the top. But as the story progresses, we realize that there is real admiration and mutual attraction between the two coaches. What do they most have in common? Well, they both love football and they both love to have sex with one another. But underlying what some might feel as demeaning behavior is the cleverly disguised antidote to perceived sexist behavior; Coach Wilson's secret desire to both promote the multi-talented (wink, wink) Coach Vicky as well as his wish to see her succeed on the gridiron in a field dominated by men. This story in its own way teases the reader into believing that Vicky's being played while at the same time springing upon us the notion that a liberated woman can do what she wants with her both her body and her life. In the end, Coach Vicky succeeds on multiple levels. She gets the head Jr, varsity football job and wins her first game quite handily. Coach Wilson gets sexual pleasure, but what he really wants is the girl—and the girl to succeed at coaching. More importantly, she gets her man in the end and the two coaches genuinely fall in love. Once again, Norwood demonstrates her subtle flair as she deftly weaves between the themes of erotica, humor and the oft ridiculed notion that a fully liberated woman can act as she will and at the same time have it all. A highly recommended read for fans of erotica who also admire a clever, well-written story by one of the genuine pro of the genre.

Review of Playing The Coach
Written by Vonda Norwood

Reviewed by R. Murry

What is the orgasm of a positive emotion? Awe is. It's in the eyes of the beholder. With awe, comes fantasy. Ms. Norwood's character, Vicky, is in awe of a man, Jake Wilson, who does what she fantasizes in doing - coaching a high school football team.

Vicky will do anything to get to work at coaching, but is impeded by Jake. Not because she is a woman, but because he is put in a difficult position which he didn't ask for. I won't give you the reason, because it would give away some of the plot.

What I will say is that he devised a way of eliminating the problem. In this experiment, he leads Vicky on with a ruse of asking her, what you think is my favorite thing. Vicky believes it's her body. She teases Coach Wilson to try and get what is her favorite thing - coaching football, with little by little sex.

Ms. Norwood does an excellent job at teasing both of the characters and the reader with their sexual encounters. Each encounter is developed to keep the reader's attention and does its job. The reader will relish in wanting to see what happens next sexually and will want to read the climax.

The story was well structured with sexual content that any reader of erotica will enjoy. The characters come alive as sexual human beings. I read it twice to find some pit falls, but couldn't find any in this short story of some interesting highs.

A quick read before bed is recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Coach or playboy! 30 Mar. 2014

A woman football coach, that's right. Can a woman be taken seriously as a football coach. Vicky couldn't believe she has a chance of being a football coach at Rockwell Sr high school. Coach Jake Wilson is one of the best high school coaches. Vicky was excited to meet him and work with him, until she met him.He thought he had a guy named Victor coming in to coach, when Vicky shows up he has her running Errands like, cleaning his office, grocery shoppping, picking up dry cleaning, Vicky is ferocious, she finds out the coach likes sipping whiskey after coaching and he can be talked into anything when he's drinking. Will Vicky take advantage of the coach? This most sexy read will have you laughing and drooling over this short story. Vonda does a great job penning this story, well written and funny. Download and find out if Vicky becomes coach or kicks a coaches butt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two passions in "Playing the Coach," 11 Mar. 2013

Vonda Norwood combines two passions, football and sex in the romantic/erotic novella PLAYING THE COACH. I enjoyed Indie Authors Make Better Lovers because Vonda brought a wonderful humour to that story. Playing the Coach is just as enjoyable. She captures behaviour beautifully and brings her classic humour to the story. This is an adult only read and will have you turning those pages to find out what happens next. I also enjoy Vonda's stories because they are a quick, fun read without all the heavy drudgery that is present in some erotica. "Playing the Coach" is a naughty, fun story by a talented writer. 

5.0 out of 5 stars Vonda Norwood's Best So Far 18 Feb. 2013

I've been reading Vonda Norwood's works now for quite some time and "Playing the Coach" is her best yet. Her characters are real and snap with just the right touch of humor, seriousness, and a hint of cynicism. It's a great erotica read and very easy to read. I highly recommend this book to all erotica and romance fans. Good job Ms. Norwood.
