From the manufacturer
What’s the difference between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console?
The only difference between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console is the inclusion of an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive in the PS5 console. The PS5 Digital Edition console does not feature a disc drive.
Are there any performance differences between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console?
No. The consoles’ performance is identical, outside the existence of a disc drive.
Can I use both PS5 console models in either horizontal or vertical orientation?
Yes, both PS5 models include a Base that allows users to adjust the console for vertical or horizontal placement. Watch our PS5 teardown video to see how it works.
Can I expand PS5’s ultra-high speed SSD storage?
PS5 features an expansion port that will, in the future, enable players to add M.2 SSD storage to be used for installing and playing PS5 games.
Can I play PS4 games on PS5?
Yes. When the PlayStation 5 console launches this November, more than 99 percent of the 4000+ games available on PS4 will be playable on it.

The camera is recommended to be situated central to your TV, be it in front or mounted on top. I like the fact they have designed it so the shell doubles as the mount; just simply pull the bottom-half away from the camera to open it up, place the camera over the TV (there is a little lip underneath the camera to go over the TV bezel) then push the bottom-half of the shell forward until it sits snuggly on the TV. Note that the camera does also tilt should you need it.
To connect the HD camera to the PS5, just connect the cameras USB-A connector into the appropriate port on the PS5 (the cable length is 2m long).
With all the positives aside, there are some drawbacks which people need to be aware of, especially if you are planning on purchasing this as a gift:
1) It is NOT backwards compatible with the PS4.
2) If you are playing PS4 games that are compatible with the PS5 and require a camera, this model is not compatible, despite using it with the PS5.
3) This will NOT support PSVR use on the PS5. You will need to use an PS4 camera adaptor which you need to apply through Sony directly to get your hands on.
So then, is there any point of owning one? As of writing this review, literally nothing except for those who want to stream through their PS5; if that's what you want it for then fantastic. Also, if you have a greenscreen, the PS5 has tools to remove the background (key feature advertised). Bare in mind the camera does not have a microphone, you will either need a headset or rely on the in-built microphone on the DualSense controller.
If you were wanting it for anything other than streaming, this will just be a dust collector. Maybe Sony are planning on incorporating the use with a PSVR 2 in the future? Time will tell.
Looks like it will do the job well. But haven't really tested out yet apart from set up configuration where it maps your face in 3 spaces, centre, left and right of screen.
You can only use the PS VR headset on a PS5 with the old style PS4 camera. Having done a bit of research, you need an adaptor - CFI-ZAA1 which Sony say they will supply free if you fill in their online form using the sticker code on the back of the PS VR Processor Unit. (1 per customer). Have tried this but keep getting an error message despite checking the sticker code and making sure it is correct. Can't get through to the Playstation help centre because they are too busy, they are not replying to my email and what's more, I can't find a link where I can buy this part from Sony either.
You would think that if they brought a new camera out, that they would make sure it worked with their PS VR headset. The fact that it doesn't is not well advertised by Sony so I would think a lot of customers purchasing the new camera are going to be very disappointed and cheesed off that it isn't compatible with the PS VR Headset.
So I am unable to sort this in the short term and will have to continue using the old PS4 with the VR games.
