Top Customer Reviews

Everyone knows 'Play in a day' but this follow-up book seems to be far less well known. It is definitely aimed at people who have (a) completed 'PiaD'; (b) who can read music, and (c) who area ready for some quite advanced techniques and principles.

Main topics covered in the book are -
Solo guitar playing
Rhythm playing
Extemporizing solos
Solo accompaniments
Arranging solos
Playing in rock, trad jazz and dance groups
Folk and skiffle playing

The last topic certainly dates the tutor to 1963 when it was first printed.

-------------------------------------------

Other topics covered are -
Inversions
Dominant seventh chord runs

The tutor is text-heavy but there are also lots of snippets and full arrangements to work with.

This is definitely an advanced tutor and is not one for anybody who doesn't already have a good working knowledge of the guitar.
