Pivotal Moments is the author's debut novel and it was such a refreshing great read. It was very well written with realistic characters and real life situations. I was  hooked from the very first word to the very last and I never wanted it to end! I wanted more Teagan and Aislinn!

The novel is told in Aislinn's point of view. She is naive and inexperienced when it comes to boys and doesn't have the best self esteem when it comes to her looks. Aislinn, or Ash, was real and very easy to relate to. Her friends, family, and new boyfriend, Teagan always tell her how beautiful she is both on the inside and on the outside. She has the insecurities, thoughts, and reactions that any 17 year old high school girl would have. I could totally relate to all the things she was experiencing because I remember how it was in high school.

I absolutely loved Teagan! He is so sweet and affectionate towards Aislinn and is always telling her how beautiful and amazing she is. But like any person, he isn't perfect and doesn't try to be. He has quite the playboy past but he is up front with Ash about his lurid past and how he has completely changed for the better. Teagan is a few years older than Ash, a roommate of Ash's older brother Connors from college. They both have vastly different experiences when it comes to relationships. When Teagan has to go back to college after being away on spring break for two weeks, they have to deal with being in a new relationship as well as cope with the distance. This is only one of the hardships that they have to deal with in their new coupledom.

I absolutely loved this book and how refreshing and real it is! I am in serious Teagan and Ash withdrawals! I wish the author would have written in alternating point of views so I could have learned more of Teagan's background and thoughts and feelings on things but I still enjoyed this book very much! I can't wait to see what Trinity has in store for us next!

This story was sweet. That's about the only thing going for it.
The story line felt shallow and staged, as though the author wanted to convey a message but focused so much on the theme (love your body & self-confidence and that instant love is possible) that she forgot to tell a story. There are so many parts of the story that could have been explored e.g. What was the root of the sibling tension? These additional threads would have boosted the storyline.
And the romance? I just didn't feel it was working. It appeared all too cheesy.

I first read this as book on Wattpad and was completely engrossed from the start. From the first few pages, Trinity Hanrahan expertly draws you into the life of Aislinn Monroe in a deep and fully immersive way. You will find yourself rooting for this girl, sympathising with her and loving her completely. The story never loses pace and yet still manages to reveal intimate details of each character's personality and life.
So if you want a book that is impossible to put down, a cover to cover read; one that is light-hearted, funny and yet deals with the honest and every day issues of a high school senior and graduate, then Pivotal Moments IS that book.

HASH(0x9b4d0324) out of 5 stars Couldn't stand main character 26 April 2016
By Andee Dunn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I normally can enjoy ya genres but this was a little too toddler for me. The main character cried every five seconds and she had zero self esteem. The love interest is five years older and way more experienced. That being said, I had no clue why he was drawn to her. The author did not do a great job of making it believable. He is just into her immediately. I only could muster thru 14 chapters. I hope it gets better but I had no desire to even try to suffer through.

HASH(0x9b4d0378) out of 5 stars tell her often how beautiful she is both inside and out 29 Jan. 2016
By Lisa - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Pivotal Moments is Trinity's debut novel and I can't say enough about how much I was blown away by it. I was drawn into it in the first paragraph. The novel is a quick read, built by realistic characters and situations. It contains some swearing, appropriately used. By far it is blossoming romance between Ash and Teeg but the novel has so much more. It encompasses normal situations that high school students and young adults face and between family and friends.

The novel is written by Ash's point of view. She is naive, inexperienced when it comes to boys, and doesn't have much self esteem about her looks. There are valid reasons for her self-doubts. Her friends, family, and new found boyfriend, Teeg, tell her often how beautiful she is both inside and out. As the reader, I found myself wanting to reach out and shake Ash, to tell her to believe them and to believe in herself. I could relate to Ash and I'm sure other readers could too. The novel is that powerful!

Teeg... OMG, he seems dreamy. But like any realistic person, he has flaws. He is open about his flaws and how he has changed. Teeg is older than Ash, a roommate of Ash's older brother from college. Teeg and Ash experience in relationships is vastly different. Ash is just 17 and Teeg is 23. After a couple of weeks together, he has to go back to college and the two have to sustain a long distance relationship. These are just some the things the two have to face, and I found myself rooting for them even more.

The only negative thing I can say is the novel ended. It didn't have any ending cliffhangers, which is a nice relief. It DOES however leave me in Ash and Teeg withdrawn. What will I read next? LOL.

I loved, LOVED this novel!!! I highly recommend it.

NOTE: I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.

HASH(0x9b4d07b0) out of 5 stars she has her best friend Penny at her side and that’s all she ... 9 Mar. 2016
By Elle - Published on Amazon.com

* Many thanks to Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review. *

Aislinn is your typical teen who shares many of the insecurities about her body and concerns about college that teens have. As she’s nearing the end of her senior year her focus is on her college preparation, and while she has never been part of the popular crowd, she has her best friend Penny at her side and that’s all she needs...Enter, swoon worthy Teagan, her brother’s delicious college friend with a heartbreaker past and his eye on Aislinn. However, things may not be smooth sailing, with an overprotective brother, the mean girls out to get her and her own anxieties holding her back, there is going to be some turbulent waters.

I am on the fence with this book. While I enjoyed it for its entertainment value, it was just lacking something which I can’t quite put my finger on. While there were certain aspects which I imagine many teens can relate to, such as the main characters insecurities and lack of self-esteem. I fear I am past the point in my life where I find these things as relatable as I once did. However, I commend the author on the emotional growth of the character, there is nothing worse than when a character doesn’t learn anything. But Aislinn, learned to both believe in and stand up for herself.

I did enjoy the cute fluffy romance at times, even if it was a little cheesy. Teagan was an easily likeable character and his past indiscretions were a good addition as they made him more ‘human’, since he sometimes came off as too flawless. Penny and Connor (and Zver for that matter) made great supporting characters. Although Connors big protective brother routine became almost frustrating, especially considering his own poor decisions.

Overall, an entertaining read if you’re looking for something fluffy to fill your summer days, which I think a younger YA audience would enjoy. However, for me there was a certain predictability to the plot that was a little too formulaic for my taste.

HASH(0x9b4d0b7c) out of 5 stars Relatable characters make this an enjoyable read! 19 Jan. 2016
By V A Smith - Published on Amazon.com

In exchange for an honest review I was sent an advanced copy of this book so here goes, Trinity Hanrahan writes in such a way that makes her characters seem real, they laugh, they cry, they have good times and bad but you care about them because they are likeable and human. They aren't perfect and that's good as you can relate to them so much more for it! I laughed out loud at times and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely reread this book which is always what we as readers want at the end of the day isn't it, a book not just to throw away or delete!

HASH(0x9b4d0c60) out of 5 stars Teagan can have my parking spot! 22 Jan. 2016
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
There's this typical thing that happens when someone tries to write a character outside of who they are-- everyone comes across as exaggerated caricatures. That is not at all the case here. Aislinn is REAL. She has the problems, insecurities, thoughts, and reactions that a girl her age would. The language is true/current without sounding like someone's drunk uncle trying to pretend he's cool talking about posting on the insta-graham crackers. But Ms Hanrahan has added a depth and skill to the writing that makes it rich and layered, not juvenile or thin.

Skill level aside, the story itself was wonderful. From Ais' very first meeting with Teagan, there is a sweet tension that grows between them. My heart fluttered as I read, sqeeing in delight at the way Teagan was with her and the way she was in return. Sigh...

Needless to say, I can't wait for book two!

Yes, read this book. Yes, sigh and swoon and love this book. And, yes, point Teagan my way. I'll even give him my parking spot!
