Product Description

Review

"Very Fun Read. Reminds me of Janet Evanovich. Quirky old ladies mentoring whacky younger woman, wrapped in a mystery." ~ Saraguin Harperon "Laugh out loud funny; woke my husband out of a sound sleep once..." - S. Bollinger

About the Author

Amy specializes in fun, comedic reads about accident prone, easily distracted women with questionable taste in men. So, autobiographies, mostly. Amy is the former East Coast Editor of SURFER Magazine but the urge to drive up and down the coast interviewing surfers has long since left her. Currently, she is a nerd and Labradoodle mommy who works at home with her goofy husband. She has rocked water aerobics at a fifty-five and over community, but has yet to play bingo. She’s heard it’s vicious.

I was a little dubious about this book as I am not a lover of romantic stories, but I do like a good 'who dunnit' and so thought I would give this a try. I am so pleased that I did, because it is fun read, has lots of humour, a plot that keeps you guessing until the end, and thoroughly entertaining and believable characters (it reminded me a little of the TV series 'The Golden Girls'). There is an element of romance, but it does not interfere with the plot. It is an easy read and made me want to keep coming back for more to see what would happen next. I am looking forward to reading more of Amy's work.

I generally don't go for 'romantic comedy' but this was a freebie so gave it a go.
I'm glad I did. the romance wasn't sickly sweet, and parts had me laughing out loud (in a good way)
I loved that the older characters were such fun, in fact I wouldn't mind living in their community when I'm old enough though I wonder would I be able to keep up with them.
the yoga class description had me cry with laughter and keeps me smiling when I think about it.
I look forward to buying the next instalment, but in the meantime bought another of the author's titles in the hope that it is equally entertaining.

Having enjoyed The Angeli Series by Amy Vansant I thought I might give this cozy mystery a try as well. It was the first book in this genre I've ever read and I loved it! Vansant's remarkable humor provided a bundle of laughs along the way, and the story line was surprisingly intriguing for such a humorous book - I couldn't put it down. Vansant is now one of my favorite authors and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of her books, whatever the genre!

I have to say that not having come across Amy Vansant before I found the story to be good in content and humor& similar in style to Debra Burroughs Paradise Mystery stories, I will be looking forward to a follow up.

I was a bit uncertain about this book because of the word "Romantic" in the title, but I needn't have worried, this is a first rate crime novel with a romantic interest that doesn't interfere with the flow and gentle drama of the plot. An excellent read if you are fed up with murder mystery books being full of profanity and Gore.

A can't put down book. A really unique setting and entertainment for all ages. The plot is well thought out and refreshingly varied. There is no bad language and yet the story is very earthy. I highly recommend this book.

Whilst not intellectually challenging this book was great fun. It would be good for passing away the time on a boring journey or when you are having a lazy day. The oldies in Pineapple Port have great character and WILL, I am sure, remind you of someone you know.

This is a fun romantic comedy, with a mystery that keeps you guessing and a cast of characters reminiscent of 'The Golden Girls'. Well written, the book carries the reader along, never quite revealing the outcome until necessary, with lots of fun moments thrown in and, of course, the romance which, as often is the case, doesn't run smoothly but gets there in the end. Ideal for a Sunday afternoon read with a cuppa or for whiling away time on a sandy beach, this book is recommended for your reading list
